I attempted to rub the sleepiness from my eyelids, looking to the wall clock to see it was half past noon and I was still in the hospital room since the break of dawn.

Footsteps made their way towards me, kneeling down next to the chair I sat at.

"Come on" Harry tilted his head back to the door.

I shook my head slowly, keeping my gaze on Liam.

"You haven't eaten all day, I'll get you lunch" he told me, having me continue to shake my head.

"How do you know I haven't eaten?"

"Because I know you" he answered making me look to him, "I'll get you chips and a sandwich"

I managed a smile, looking to my brother.

"But what about-"

"Liam will still be here, I just want to feed you right now" Harry said, "We'll come right back and continue to watch over him"

Being persuaded, I finally nodded and began getting up from the chair feeling every bit of knackered from the lack of sleep I've been getting.

Harry has made his efforts to join me with Liam the past couple days, Gen has stopped by every now and then being confused as to why Harry was with me the first time she saw him. He explained his reasons and the next few Gen visits were complementary.

Harry and I stood inside the lift for a couple awkward seconds before it opened to the lobby where Harry offered me an extra jacket he'd brought to cover the cold from outside.

"How long has he been like that?" Harry asked me, "In the hospital I mean"

I shrugged, "About I month or so" I began to explain, "It happened whilst I was in Australia"

He opened the door to a quaint delicatessen, holding it out for me to go inside before he closed the door behind him.

We put our conversation on hold as Harry got me the sandwich and chips he promised.

"Aren't you getting something?" I asked having him shake his head.

"I ate this morning, you on the other hand have an empty stomach" he took out his wallet.

"You don't have to pay" I told him, beginning for the money I had in the back pocket.

"Vanessa it's fine, if anything you deserve it"

"Harry, no"

"I'll sneak some of your chips, deal?" he raised an eyebrow to me, having me sigh in defeat and nod.

We found a two person table by a foggy window where I hoisted myself onto the stool to reach the table.

"So you didn't know he was in the hospital?" Harry continued our conversation.

I shrugged and nodded, "I was too selfish to think anything was wrong"

"Hey, you're the least selfish person I know. Don't talk like that" Harry said grabbing a chip from the plate and popping it in his mouth.

"But it's true in this scenario Harry, I didn't even check the damn house voicemail" I sighed.

"The hospital called the house?" he asked with furrowed eyebrows.

"Yeah, when no one was home" I explained.

"If I were there I would've been able to get the call" he groaned, bringing his hands to his head on the table.

"But you were in Cheshire, weren't you?" I asked, being confused to why he would be at the house.

"Yeah, for me" he began, "If anyone was selfish it was me, I left for Cheshire because I wanted to escape my sadness"
