"I have no job, I've gotten no sleep, and mind me I feel useless to everything going on" I explained to Gen as we sat in the hallway outside of Liam's hospital room.

Inside, the doctor said we could stay outside whilst he and the nurse replaced Liam's IV's and tubes if we weren't comfortable with needles. I never felt uneasy around needles, they never scared me but when they're being put into my brother is another story.

"You're not useless" Gen assured me, "Sometimes when there's so much shit going on, people tend to feel useless but in reality it's too much for even the perfect person to handle. You just have so much on your plate"

I looked to my knees and bit my bottom lip having Gen notice my lack of enthusiasm.

"Do you ever plan on applying for another university?" she asked to which I nodded.

"Yeah, I just wanted a small break between being rejected and applying to a new campus" I explained, "I've been winging it since then"

"Maybe that small break is coming to an end?" Gen subtly said.

I looked to the blank white wall in front of me, leaning my head back on the one I was sat against.

Out of all the things that have happened the last year, Uni had been the one thing I'd planned. And it didn't even happen. I'd just like one thing I'd planned to happen.

Parting my lips and about to express my opinion on the topic, the door to Liam's room opened having the nurse and doctor give us an okay to go back inside.

~ Harry's _ POV +

It took Gen some convincing to get me out of the hospital room, and when I finally did I didn't know what to do with myself when I walked out of the emergency room doors. At first I just stopped by a near coffee shop and hung around for a couple minutes, when I was bored enough I called Niall and Zayn which is what I should've done in the first place.

We drove around the streets for a small while, when we drove up a familiar overview and parked at the edge which was a restricted place but hey what's life with a little living.

We climbed to the roof of Zayn's truck with him sitting in the middle and Niall and I on either side of him. Our feet rest on his windshield which he gave up on scolding us for.

It was cold, so cold that even the fog from the heat that escaped our lips tingled at my nose. Rubbing my hands together I tried to engage into the conversation Zayn and Niall were having.

"Yeah, I overheard him explain to Beth that he'll be leaving in a few days" Niall told Zayn, "Now Beth can move back into my room"

"Wait who's moving?" I asked, leaning more towards the two.

"Louis, he's leaving in February" Niall told me, "Wouldn't that be a great birthday gift for you?" he teased, nudging my shoulder.

I rolled my eyes, not caring to explain that Louis and I were in partially bearable terms.

"Where is he going?"

Niall shrugged, "Somewhere far I'm guessing, he wouldn't be saying his goodbyes if he was just leaving town"

"Well isn't this a good thing for you Haz?" Zayn added in, "I mean you never really liked the lad"

"We've met certain terms" I told them.

"He shagged your girlfriend mate" Niall raised an eyebrow.
