42.Heart to Heart

I sighed looking at the picture of Cedric that was taped to the mirror in the Room of Requirements

"You alright?" Harry asked softly and I sighed

"It's just, just learning all this. Makes me wonder whether if he'd known it, if it would have helped." I mumbled gently pulling the picture off the mirror to hold on my hands

"Cedric, Cedric did know this stuff. He was really good. It's just, Voldemort was better." Harry sighed looking at the picture in my hands

"I saw it happen you know?"

"You did?"

"Yea, I saw it every night for months. I warned him but...he wanted to, I don't know prove himself or something? The visions weren't always the same though. Sometimes he lived but all those times he left the maze early. I always told him to be careful and I didn't get to tell him I loved him back." I sighed

"You can't blame yourself Star, you did what you could. An he knew you loved him you didn't have to tell him."

"Star, wake up love." A voice whispered above me and I slowly opened my eyes to meet a familiar pair of grayish blue ones staring back at me

"Ced?" I mumbled sitting up and he smiled

"Hello love. I miss you." He laughed

"Am I- this is a dream right?" I asked looking around at my surroundings. I was in my dorm room and I appeared to be sunny and warm outside

"Of course it is, that doesn't mean I'm not here." He smiled reaching down to grab my hand, I gasped at the contact with a small smile.

"I love you too." I whispered looking at him as he finally looked up to meet my eyes

"I know you do and I know you always will, but I want you to stop blaming yourself for what happened. An eventually one day, maybe even in the near future I'd like you to move on as well."

"Ced..."I sighed and he shook his head

"You deserve to be happy, you're an amazing girl Star and I'm so grateful I had the privilege to call you mine. Besides isn't there a certain ginger that's been fighting for you attention for years?" He joked and I rolled my eyes

"I wouldn't say for years." I laughed

"Star he looks at you they way I did, he always has. I don't know how anyone wouldn't. Now I don't have a whole lot of time left so I'll make this very quick.-"

"Of course you will, but not for a long time I hope." He said sternly pointing his finger at me and I nodded sadly as he reached to hold my hands in his

"Star, you deserve the world and more. I love you so much and I am so grateful I got to spend the last two years of my life getting to know you. You're going to do some pretty amazing things and I can't wait to see them. I love you so much ok, and I'm always going to be here, you may not see or hear me but I'll always be one of your biggest supporters." He smiled pulling me into his arms as he kissed me.

After a few seconds the pressure of his lips was gone and I opened my eyes to see I was still in my dorm only this time it was dark and Ginny and Hermione were sleeping in their beds. I sighed leaning back against my pillows

"I love you so much." I mumbled looking at the picture of Cedric and I from the Yule ball.
