39: Escape

As far as one's eyes could see, the vast land was covered with trees where Emperor Uchiha Sasuke's favorite fruit Saccharine grew. The perfect combination of sweet and sour, the exotic fruit only grew in the high-altitude regions of demon land which was in another dimension. A land that could be opened only with the help of pure-blooded high-ranking demons.

Plucking the fruit from one of the branches which were hanging low for her to reach, Jassabella lazily tossed it inside her half-full basket while Jimin was trimming the branches of the tree using a ladder adjacent to her. Both were clad in simple white and green traditional clothes that appeared no different than that of other workers working in the field of Saccharine.

As their punishment, all of them including Jungkook were sent to the holy temple of Azalea to atone for their mistake where they had to live a life of a monk for two months and do laborious jobs such as working in the field, cleaning the temple, feeding the animals, or cooking food for orphans being sheltered in the temple. On top of that, most of their abilities were shielded on the premise of the temple as a form of respect for the goddess.

"I can't take this anymore" Helena shrieked, startling Jassabella and as the result, the basket of Saccharien she was carrying slipped off her hand and scattered all over the grassy field.

"Fuck Helena, What happened now?" Jimin was equally taken back, he climbed down from the ladder and questioned the girl wearing a plain white and pink traditional dress.

"The Preist asked me to milk the cow, Me! the crown princess of Egyptia milking a cow, how infuriating" She exasperated fanning herself in disbelief.

"Ha- it's infuriating because you don't know how to milk a cow " Sehun mocked the girl after laying the basket filled with fruits on the ground.

"As if you have been milking cows all of your life " Helena retorted back folding her arms over her chest.

"Not cows but lots of women" Sehun winked at Helena in pride and draped his arms around Jimin's shoulder while the two girls glared at him in disgust.

"Thank god, I am engaged to an Uchiha man" Helena rolled her eyes in annoyance leaving Sehun who was complaining in the background.

"Wow, Helena is engaged? With whom" Jassabella asked in curiosity eyeing the two who were fighting over the topic of milking cows, gathering the fiery red fruits, and putting them back in her basket.

"It hasn't been publicly announced but she is Namjoon Hyung's mate," Jimin told her removing his gloves and helping Jassabella.

"Damn she is engaged too, how come only you and Jungkook were not engaged? " Jassabella simply stated and Jimin's hand froze at the spot not knowing how to respond to her statement.

Though he was hiding his pain behind his forged smile, a part of him wanted to reveal everything to her in a hope that she would somehow remember their bond. He wanted to confess they were supposed to be together but after learning the truth about him being a vessel her parents broke off their engagement and took her away.

He wanted to scream at her for not recognizing her mate and more importantly for forgetting their memories together. But before he could open his mouth to answer her, he was interrupted by overly enthusiastic Jungkook appearing out of nowhere in his slightly more luxurious clothing than that of others.

"Guys" He called them out with a wide grin dancing on his face and all of them immediately hastened to surround him abandoning their respective tasks.

"I found the key to my freedom"

All of them followed Jungkook to the dense forest that was situated a few Kilometers away from the temple without questioning him but as they got deeper into hoods, Sehun finally broke his silence.
