16: Two conditions

The sounds of paper being flipped were the only noise that could be heard reverberating throughout the hall that was filled with varieties of books neatly stacked row after row in the tall bookcases. In the hushed environment, students were busy minding their own business while Hana was doing her job of arranging the returned books in their predetermined positions.

She loved her job as an assistant librarian since the title made it possible for her access to the restricted areas of the library where she loved to venture once or twice a week to borrow books without anyone knowing. For some reason, the prohibited section always intrigued her and the content she could find in those sections was something the students wouldn't get to learn in normal classes.

As the name suggested practicing tabooed magic, spells or powers was strictly against the law of the magical world however some people were granted a license to practice them by the council themselves and one of those people was no other than lady light, Kim Yeona.

She was by far the youngest person in the entire history to master the forbidden magic and the only person who had gotten away without inflicting any harm to herself or others. Scanning the room to make sure that no eyes were prying at her, Hana slipped into the restricted zone to keep back one of the books she had borrowed and maybe take another one. Putting the book into the shelf where she had picked it from, she trotted to the section where the books regarding the seven protectors were placed and climbed the stairs to pull out a book of her interest.

"Do the librarian knows about your little adventures to the restricted area" as she was drawing the book out, a familiar voice spoke from behind, startling her to the point that she lost her balance and fell right into the arms of the man she had grown to detest.

"Hello," Sehun flashed her a smile and before she could react he let her go and she fell down on the floor groaning in pain.

"If you were going to let me fall then why did you catch me in the first place" she sneered standing up on her feet.

"My apologies" Sehun smirked, making her blood boil.

"Students are not allowed in this area, get lost before I complain" Hana snapped, dusting her pants off.

"Sweetheart, I am no ordinary student, I can enter the places that are even prohibited to the librarian"

The only thing Hana caught up with was there was another area in the library that had more interesting books. As if a hungry hound would drool in the sight of the bone, Hana was internally freaking out with the new revelation but still, she managed to maintain her facet.

"So the right question is, are you allowed in here?" Sehun arched his eyebrows in suspicion. Though his gaze which was keenly observing all of her movements made her nervous, she looked right into his eyes and lied "Yes I am"

"Oh really, should I call Miss Bernadette and ask her?" he turned around to leave and Hana hurriedly hauled him back and covered his mouth, hushing him down.

"Shush, can you just shut up?"

Even with his lips covered Hana could perceive that he was giving her his signature smile laced with arrogance because unfortunately, he had caught her in an act of breaking the laws of the school.

"Okay, you got me, now what?" withdrawing her hand back, she folded them over her chest glaring at the tall man before her.

"Firstly, don't you think you should show some respect to me, after all, I am the crown prince of Carabian" Sehun expressed his dissatisfaction.

"I bet he says that even in his sleep" Hana murmured rolling her eyes.

"What?" Sehun shocked by her response gave her a warning look however Hana simply shrugged her shoulders and stated "You heard me, I know you have super good hearing senses"
