The room was almost dark and the only source of light was the low flame flickering in the large, unconventional hearth with delicate design craved around it. A figure clad in a silk black shirt and tight black pants stood by the fireplace making the fire dance in his fingers as he indulged himself in the deepest ocean of his thoughts.

His mind was in chaos and his heart was more anxious than usual. It was yearning to the extent that he felt like his heart was breaking. For a person like him, it completely unfamiliar sensation so the emotion swirling all over his body was getting unbearable plus not knowing the cause of these foreign feelings made it even worse.

"Something is off. This eerie feeling isn't going away" He stated to the older male sitting comfortably beside him on a luxurious sofa with a drink in his hand.

"I think you drank too much Jungkookie," his brother said, placing down the glass filled with red fluid on top of an expensive Victorian-styled table.

Jungkook wanted to protest. Just a few glasses of wine and sips of blood were never enough to make him intoxicated. He felt at peace but at the same time, he was growing impatient as if his entire existence was waiting for something, therefore, he was certain that it wasn't the liquor.

He placed his hand over his heart which despite being still, felt like was almost palpitating. Pyraculapus like him were bound to strong ancient magic and didn't require a beating heart to stay alive. For their being to function, a life force contained in blood or any other form of elemental energy was enough but that didn't mean their heart could never beat.

Jungkook had heard stories from his father and his brother about how they experienced their first heartbeat and it was always connected to very strong emotional simulation like intense grief or happiness.

He wonder if he would undergo something as magical as the beating of his heart and what emotion would be the one to trigger it.

"Did you get the report of who is returning to  Pyracea?" strolling toward the large double curtained window which almost reached the ceiling carrying a glass of red fluid, Jungkook attempted to divert his attention to the topic of importance,

Jimin took a long deep breath then sightly nodded his head implying that he was aware of the news.

"Of course, as soon as the application arrived it was forwarded to me" he informed the younger male facing the window.

"How do you feel?" Jungkook questioned taking another sip of the metallic-tasting liquid.

"Honestly I am having conflicting emotions..." Jimin began with a huff.

"I am nervous but my heart is growing more and more impatient" Unseen to Jimin, Jungkook's eyes grew wider noticing how the emotion his brother was feeling was similar to what he was dealing with and for sure it wasn't just a mere coincidence.

His eyes softened and he proceeded to open the window to let the fresh air flow in.

"The air in the city feels different"  Jungkook commented taking a long wisp of the fresh air and Jimin hummed in response. A certain alluring sweetness was lingering in the air that made his mouth water and craved for something he had no clue of.

His eyes immediately averted to the direction where the elite was and a smile graced his lips.

"Seems like this year is gonna be interesting for both of us" with that remark, Jungkook smirked then retraced his steps back to his divan
