"I don't want to keep myself hoping for something that isn't really bound to happen."

The next day, after having breakfast with my parents and Nanay, I immediately drive my way to Antipolo. I asked Callixto if I should bring something dahil naroon na siya kanina pa. He told me to bring breakfast for two people dahil hindi pa raw sila nag-aalmusal.

It wasn't a hassle, I actually appreciate the distance especially if the weather is this good. When I arrived at the site, my eyes were wandering around as I remove my seatbelt.

But all I see was Callixto sitting next to the tree.

I step outside of my car while carrying the paper bag from the fast food I went to. My eyes kept wandering until I look at my back and flinched when I saw Timothy standing there. Napahawak pa ako sa dibdib ko dahil nagulat talaga ako.

"Let me carry that for you," he insisted as he extended his hands to me.

"Thank you pero magaan lang naman 'to," I refuse and closed the door of my car, but he swiftly snatched the paper bag from me. It was fast but he was careful when he did that.

Nauuna siyang maglakad sa akin kaya hinabol ko pa siya.

"Bakit nandito ka? Hindi ka ba busy?" Tanong ko.

"If you need help, you can always ask me," he said, obviously dodging my questions. I was confusedly looking at him while we're walking until he stares at me back. "You can go to me instead," he added.

Inihaba ko yung isa kong braso sa kanya para pigilan siya sa paglalakad. Thankfully, Callixto's busy that we can't catch his attention. We stopped walking and I faced him fully.

"Where is this coming from Timothy? Why are you being... like this?" I asked, I tried to sound firm as I could. If this is because he already viewed Luther's stories, I want to know why.

"Bakit nga ba, Grace?" Pagbabalik niya sa'kin ng tanong.

I scoffed, "I obviously have no idea that's why I'm asking you."

"You're so dense." He shook his head.

"And you're so unpredictable."

"Are you not?" He countered back with a smirk plastered on his face.

"How can't I when you're seeing someone else?" I was about to walk away when he grabbed my wrist, I slowly looked back at him, only to see that his face looks puzzled.

"What do you mean?" He asked.

I sighed deeply as I gather all my strength to talk. "At first I thought it was Art," I began. "But Luther told me that you're not until I saw the woman you met right after we went to the cemetery." I gulped. "I don't want to keep myself hoping for something that isn't really bound to happen, Timothy."

"But I'm not seeing anyone else, Alyson. I can't even if I tried to," he said. "All along you've been assuming that I'm into someone? That's the reason why all the things I'm doing for you seem to be neglected?" He paused. "You could've just asked me."

I was taken aback and I couldn't stand the way he's staring right at me, it was a mixture of disappointment and pain, that's why I look away. No words even tried to get out from my mouth and all I could do was to feel his presence walking away from me.

"What's with that frown?"

I was sitting on the wooden bench not far from the pharmacy where Ken's working when I heard his voice, I immediately glance on his way and saw him walking towards me holding two bottles of iced tea.
