By the time dessert came all the tension from the table had lifted and my nerves had calmed. Ivy also seemed to have calmed and no one else had to decided to question me. Almost everyone is was chattering except from Sophia; her bubbly sister had both her parents enchanted with her conversation and it left Sophia there silent. I wondered for a moment if the reason she was so quiet was out of necessity or choice but I remembered her comment from early and shook my head at the idea
"We can leave soon" Ivy's voice in my ear jolted me back.
I nodded then looked at her and smiled. She was perfect looking - always - especially in that lighting. But I could see from the mix of people at the table and then ivy that she was different, just going from looks she was the only non straight one. Her hair was short and her clothes fit her age bracket still though, there was something feminine about her.
Jane and well... the twins mother came back through holding a cheesecake and ice cream. I was stuffed and didn't need anymore to eat but just the look in Sophias eyes I could tell it would be good. Her mum sat back down and looked at her shy teenage daughter
"Ivy" I subtly whispered
"Mmm" she raised her eyebrows
"What's her name" I mumbled looking pointedly at the women opposite her
"Amber"
And finally I had a name for the face. She fit in perfectly with this family, unlike myself. I was even more differing then ivy, at least ivy had the mannerisms and way too handle things I just looked like I didn't belong.
"Cheesecake?" Jane said
The question pulled me from my thoughts and allowed reality to settle on me. I shook my head briefly
"Im so stuffed no thanks"
"She will" ivy butted in.
Her mum gave me a warm knowing smile and proceeded to give me a rather large helping of cheesecake. As the plate was placed down in-front of me I tilted my head at ivy, who gave me a smirk. I turned to face Jane and smiled at her.
"Thank you"
She nodded and moved on to Sophia next to me.
"Why?" I questioned Ivy
"Just trust me on this one"
I rolled my eyes at her and stabbed my fork into the desert on my plate. She was right, it was a perfect cheesecake.

"Now that wasn't so bad was it?" I teased on the short walk to the annex."I guess not"
We got into the annex and Ivy immediately walked over to the thermostat. The cold had taken over the space, not entirely but it had invaded.
"Are you staying over?"
I nodded "if you don't mind"
She turned to me and gave me yet another smirk. However the smirk didn't stay on her face, it changed - it evolved- into a smile
"Of course not"
I didn't want to ruin the moment, but I was cold bloated and probably a day or two away from my period
"Can we go to bed"
Ivy being Ivy rolled her eyes at me and nodded. A flash of something in her eyes kept me looking at her. She was unpredictable at the best of times but I could tell she was up to something.
Then her hands were on my waist and I was no longer on the floor. Once again being in her arms in bridal position.
"Seriously?" I teased
