"So what are we actually doing?" I asked as all of us sipped our hot drinks, heating up against the unforgiving weather.

Alex opened her mouth to say something then stopped, looking puzzled she cocked her head to the side. Her eyes were purely on me and it made me shift uncomfortably in my seat.

"You put mascara on" she said

A sense of relief went through me as I realised Alex, like most things, was playing odd one out. It was one of the similarities between us, perhaps even something I did more often then her - analysed. Overthinking came with my anxiety my analysis was a gift, or at least I saw it that way. It was probably why I enjoyed English literature so much and why I found law so fascinating. Even with people it was useful, often sending off alarm bells - like it had with Ben Harris nearly a year ago in maths.

Proving often it was right.

"Yeah I always bring it in my school bag" I laughed "priorities right?"

This made a small hum of laughter for around the room before quiet came upon us once again

"If it's okay with you" Ivy spoke "we are gonna play games and drink tonight"

I nodded my head, finding absolutely nothing wrong with the suggestion.

However, I texted both my parents knowing they wouldn't have a problem and neither would be over tired yet still, they were my parents and whether or not I was independent, for a least a couple more months they should get the final say in what I do.

We started off friendly with a random game of cluedo, oddly enough though when I looked at the main house out of Ivy's wall of windows I couldn't help but think that it was the type of house that I thought the game took place. The house was large and carried history and character. It wasn't ancient but unlike the annex it was not modern. To look at it was obviously huge, but with fine taste.

The games were getting more and more intense, with a rather heated game of uno taking place next followed by cards against humanities. All in all it was very entertaining but I recall at around 6.30 was when it got really interesting.

After the last round of cards against humanities, ivy got up and made her way out of the room. It was darker at this point only a small amount of light hanging in the sky, darkening our days. Yet the warmth and light from where we were just made it more inviting. Noah was fully warmed up to ivy, cracking jokes and even letting a few tame insults out; Alex was slowly adjusting more to her presence. We made for a good group, jokes floating around sarcasm running thickly through us all. Noah and Alex had ended up on the L area of Ivy's sofa, both of them pressed against eachother in a cosy, comforting fashion. Neither was tired however and I saw the energy bouncing for Alex's eyes.

Excitement?

Ivy returned to the room holding a wooden basket with tall bottles poking off the top. She placed it on the coffee table and I saw it's contents: alcohol. A bottle of opened vodka, white rum and whiskey. Quite an odd combination I thought. At the bottom of the basket were shot glances, all identical with different Disney characters engraved on each one .

This caused quite a few questions to pop into my mind but I decided revisiting them another day would probably be better, mostly because I wanted to know what those 3 had in store for me.

Noah sat Alex up, pushing her gently off him so he could help ivy unload all her resources into the same. The look in Alex's eyes had grown and I felt some of it radiate onto me. My curiosity peaked as my eyes darted over Noah and ivy and what they were doing.

A game. And a drinking one at that. I couldn't see any cards in the table either which meant it was probably one of the two I had played at parties before: truth or dare...
