In no time at all we were both inside her annex, clean showered and tired. There was small puddles on the floor of her entrance way where we had come in, dripping with rain. Throughout the annex these small puddles hinted at where we had stepped and paused, the longer we had stood the more water collected. It was as if the trail of our foot steps echoed our movement, reminding us in a way. As I looked at the floor and noticed it made a twisted sense of unease knot in my stomach.
Before Ivy came out of her room, I grabbed a tea towel and made my way over to the larger puddles, where we had stood the longest, and began aborning all the the water. I watched as it soaked up and weighed down the cloth. Soon the muddy liquid was no more and only a damp trace remained. The thin line of streaky muck took up most of my attention has I used a combination of different towels and cloth to restore the floor to its previous pristine condition.
"What are you doing down there?" Ivy asked peering at me, clearly amused
The sound of her voice scared me, making me jump with panic. Of course I'd expected Ivy come out but she was so quiet, and then suddenly right in-front of me.
"Just getting at all the water" I muttered
As I looked up, I saw Ivy squatting infront of me; her eyes were on me as always a softened look on her astounding face. Wet hair hung in semi dried strands that hovered by her eyes. To take her in, in all her beauty was challenge. I'm not entirely sure if I could help the content sigh that came from me as my focus shifted to her and only her.
"You don't need to do that"
"I know"
Ivy reached her hand out to me and looked down at me with an expecting look. I think I wanted to see what would happen if I didn't take it like she expected and instead looked back at her. A stern look came over Ivy's face, not controlling just sort of...reprimanding.
"Would you like to watch a movie?" she asked looking down at me
"Yeahhh"
"Well then, come on"
She kept her hand out for me, and this time I took it and stood up.
"Not to difficult was it" she said as she pulled me closer and placed a hasty kiss on my forehead.
A couple of hours later we were both cuddled up on her sofa, the conjuring playing on the tv and mugs of hot sweet milky tea in our hands. Ivy was the first to drain her mug, clearly liking scolding her mouth at the same time. Once again, I was comfortably against her chest, my body between her legs and my head resting on her shoulder. Her arm was draped over my hoodie covered stomach as we lay there, keeping warm with each other's bodies.
Every so often I would look up and marvel at the human I had grown so close to. She wasn't just attractive to me anymore, Ivy was far more then that. Forever laying in her arms like that would not have been enough. The things I felt for Ivy reminded me briefly of the movie twilight, which I had watched religiously as a child. Ivy was in fact my own personal brand of heroine and I was still oblivious to the side affects that would lead to.
These strong feelings lead me once again to questioning - many things. Although I could now fully say I was not straight I could not determine what in fact I was. I had always presumed Ivy was in fact gay but I never asked despite the fact we'd now kissed over a handful of times. My thoughts kept going on this track for a while. Not straight? Not gay - well not fully gay at least. I wasn't completely in the dark I knew countless other sexualities existed but I had never thought about applying the to me. I remember at I considered this my mind drifted further and further away from the movie until, Ivy had the unfortunate reaction of jerking as something or another happened.
