Dean Lewis - Waves:
'There is a swelling storm and I'm caught up in the middle of it all and it takes control of the person that I thought I was. The boy I used to know but there is a light in the dark and I feel its warmth. In my hands, in my heart, but why can't I hold on?'

Fiona woke up the next morning with one of the worst headaches she had ever had. And it wasn't even from the alcohol last night. She looked around the room when she opened her eyes, trying to figure out where she was. Suddenly, she remembered she was at her new apartment and she sat up straight. Why was she laying on the sofa, instead of in her bed? But then it all came back to her. The party, the cramps, the drive home, George.. 'Oh god, George. What happened?' The first thing Fiona did when she stood up, was take another painkiller. Day two usually was the worst day and she was glad it was a Sunday, so she could stay at home.

She walked back over to the sofa and spotted her laptop, still open on the coffee table. Fiona moved her finger over the mouse pad and the screen turned on. The notes app was opened and she saw a short message written on there. A small smile formed on her face when she read George's name at the bottom, but she felt a little ashamed to have fallen asleep while he was in her apartment. Her eyes darted down to the bottom of the page where he had left what appeared to be his phone number and her heart skipped a beat. 'Does he want me to message him? It would be the nice thing to do, wouldn't it?' Fiona grabbed her phone, ignored the growing number of notifications from Miles and went to her text messages.

Fiona 🕊️:
Good morning! Thank you so much for taking such good care of me last night and driving me home. I had a really good time, despite the horrible cramps. I'm sorry for falling asleep 😳 Hope you got home okay. X Fiona

She didn't really have time to think about her message for too long before she hit 'send' because the second Fiona put her phone down, there was someone furiously knocking at her door. She quickly checked her appearance in the hallway mirror, straightened her clothes a bit and opened the door to see a really angry looking Miles standing there. "So you are still alive?" He spat at her before he barged his way into her apartment. He appeared to check all the rooms before he headed over to her living room. Luckily Fiona had closed her laptop, so he wouldn't spot George's message. "I have been calling and texting you since last night. Why weren't you answering me?" Miles was shouting and Fiona held her hand up to her head, the pounding getting worse the more he screamed at her.

"I was at the season-opening party from work. I didn't check my phone. I'm sorry.." Fiona said and she knew she had messed up. But she had never expected him to drive all the way here to come to see her. "Why are you here?" She asked and the second the words left her mouth, Fiona knew she should have never asked him this. "To beat up the guy you have been cheating on me with.. Where is he?" Miles stormed around the apartment again, opening every single door but coming back without finding anyone. "There is no one here, Miles. I have not cheated on you once". Fiona said and she tried to calm him down by placing her hands on his arms. Miles sighed and he looked her up and down for a second. "Did you just come home? You're still wearing the clothes and make-up from last night, aren't you?"

Fiona didn't know what to tell him, he wouldn't believe her anyway. "Aren't you?!" Miles asked again but his voice was ten times louder now. She slowly nodded and opened her mouth to speak but he turned around again. He walked towards her kitchen, grabbed himself a can of coke from the fridge and sat down on a chair at her dinner table. "What's his name?" Miles asked when Fiona joined him in the room. "There is no one, Miles. I had really bad cramps and one of my co-workers drove me home last night and I fell asleep on the sofa while watching a movie, that's all". Fiona knew she wasn't telling him everything, but it felt better to leave some details behind. "You better not be lying, Fiona. I'll beat him up, you know that". He looked at her with a disgusted look on her face and she quickly nodded. "I promise".
