Jackson Guthy - Giants:
'But you ripped my walls down faster than I knew how to build them up again. 'Cause we're all giants trying to answer questions. Why do we feel so small when we're not at all but even giants need someone to land on when they fall'
Fiona and George still hadn't told anyone about their 'relationship', but weren't trying so hard to hide it anymore either. Of course, they weren't full-on making out in the cafeteria, but they had lunch together with Toby and Maddie and arrived or went home together as well. George even grabbed her hand in the hallway once and although her first instinct was to turn around and see if anyone was watching them, Fiona felt amazing when she just let it happen. Currently, she was sat in the van back to the hotel in Bahrain where they were just a few weeks ago for testing. But this time, the season had really started. Fiona felt like the last time was a test run for the real deal that was about to happen this weekend. She and Maddie shared a room again and it felt great to have her best friend by her side all the time.
"I'll get the keycards, okay?" Madeleine said when they arrived at the hotel. Some of the team members had already arrived and some were flying in later tonight so it wasn't as busy at the reception desk. Fiona looked around the hall and appreciated the beauty of the hotel for a moment. Lots of gold detailing and big comfy chairs all over the space. The girls were ecstatic when they figured out that their room would be a few floors higher than the previous one and they also immediately noticed it was a lot bigger. They had two separate bedrooms this time and Fiona let Maddie pick out her favourite first. Unlike a few weeks ago, there weren't any free days to go out and explore the city. Fiona and Maddie were expected to be at the track in an hour so they quickly unpacked their bags and changed into their work attire.
Luckily the track was close, so the girls decided to walk there and enjoy some of the beautiful weather Bahrain had to offer. The first time when Fiona arrived at the track and scanned her pass to get through the security gates had been weird, but having worked there for two weeks already, it was getting more normal every time. They headed straight for the hospitality unit that had just been put together. Their job would be to help decorate the inside and start stocking the coffee bars and kitchen pantry. They worked all afternoon until every single item was placed right where it needed to and Maddie sighed deeply when she sat down at a table. "Do you want a coffee?" Fiona asked her friend and she nodded. She turned around and headed towards the coffee bar to get herself a cup as well.
"Hey.." Madeleine heard someone say behind her and she smiled when she noticed George. She pulled a chair back for him to sit on and she could tell he was just as exhausted as they were. "Media day is nearly the most tiring part of the weekend". Maddie giggled and she quickly looked to see if her best friend was coming back yet. "Hey.. I wanted to know something. Has Fiona talked to you about how she was feeling lately?" Madeleine had heard a few things but her friend had kept awfully quiet about it lately so she was just curious. "Yeah we talked about it. I know she is feeling like she can't hide it any longer and I told her that we'll just hang out together and not avoid each other anymore". George said and the blonde girl nodded. "She's just.." She started but she quickly swallowed her words again.
"What is it?" George asked and Madeleine debated if she should tell him. "I know she really wants you to be official. It's not like I'm trying to tell you to do it, but I know the girl a little by now and she's getting insecure from the fact that she's not your girlfriend yet". George looked down at his hands and nodded slowly. "Yes, I know and I wanted to talk to you about that too. Could you maybe distract her after the race on Sunday? There are a few things I need to take care of in that regard". Madeleine's eyes went wide and she quickly nodded when she spotted her best friend returning with two cups of coffee. "Oh hi!" Fiona said and she quickly kissed George on his cheek before she sat down. The three of them talked for a while before George had to leave again but all Maddie could think about was what he had just asked her. She was his accomplice.
