Delaney Jane - Safe With You:
'Feels like I knew you in a past life. The way we vibin', you and I just seem so natural and every time I felt like this before (Yeah). Everybody make me wanna find the nearest door. Always askin' myself, "What the fuck I really came here for?". Maybe all I wanted, I've been lookin' for. Lookin' for'

It was Monday morning and Fiona's first official day as Jessie's replacement behind the reception desk. She wasn't really nervous because she was sure she would be able to handle everything, but there was a healthy form of tension building up in her stomach, excited to start her first proper day of work. Fiona arrived a little earlier this morning, giving herself enough time to start everything up and prepare for the day. She greeted a couple of people who arrived after she sat down and opened the schedule for today. She had a few phone calls to make, an entire inbox of emails to answer and there was a tour planned for this afternoon.

The tours happened every Monday. There would be a group of people, sometimes even a school class or a kart group that would be given a tour around the building. Fiona was supposed to gather them all and guide them towards the cafeteria where the trip around the factory would start. But she didn't have to worry about that until after the lunch break. The first hours of the day were filled with phone calls and Fiona was happy to get this part out of the way first. She wasn't really too keen on calling people and she knew it was an important part of the job, but if she had the choice, she would never answer the phone again.

After all the important calls were finished, it was time for the lunch break. Fiona had been looking forward to this all morning, she couldn't wait to tell her friend about what she saw when Toby entered the factory this morning. "Hey girl!" Maddie said when they met up at the table they had claimed ever since they started having lunch together last week. "How has your first morning alone been?" Fiona told her about the phone calls and the tour around the factory this afternoon before they moved on to more interesting topics. "George is looking rather handsome today, I saw him earlier this morning and I swear he dressed up just for you". Maddie said, wiggling her eyebrows in front of her.

Fiona tried to push her friend away from across the table and the girls laughed. "Have you seen Toby yet today?" It was time for Fiona to change the subject and tease her friend for a bit. "Nope, not yet". She answered. "Well, a little birdie told me he came in with a big bouquet of flowers this morning.." Fiona told her and it wasn't even a lie. Her heart had melted when she spotted Toby walk into the factory with some gorgeous roses. He had waved at her and Fiona had given him a smile back. "No, he didn't.. You're joking!" Madeleine looked around the room and spotted exactly who she was looking for. In the other corner stood Toby with his bouquet of flowers, ready to come up to them and hand them to Maddie.

"I'll leave you two to it. I'll see you later, Mads". She said and she stood up, taking her lunch tray with her to eat at her desk. She didn't mind at all. But when she arrived back behind the reception desk, she noticed Madeleine wasn't the only one receiving gifts today. In front of her computer, on her desk, was a light pink hot water bottle with a little note on top. 'For you to use while we finish the rest of the movie. How does tonight sound? X' Fiona looked around the entrance hall to see if George was anywhere to be seen but he wasn't. She quickly sat down and grabbed her phone so she could send him a reply.

Fiona 🕊️:
Thank you so much for the hot water bottle, but you really shouldn't have! Tonight sounds great, 7.30 pm, my place? X

George 🏎️:
Wouldn't want you to fall asleep from the painkillers again now, would I? See you then 😘

The rest of the day couldn't finish soon enough. Fiona had answered lots of emails, made a few new passes for some guests and guided the tour group to the cafeteria before going back to another load of unanswered emails. When the clock finally hit 5 o'clock, she couldn't get up from her seat quick enough. Fiona wanted to clean her apartment a bit, tidy away all the boxes and make sure she looked presentable before George would arrive. All that, while having some dinner as well. Living by yourself was harder than she thought.
