W A R N I N G: mention of infertility
The next few weeks were really difficult. Fiona had to stay in the hospital for a few days after the race before she was able to fly back home again where she was on bed rest for a few weeks for the internal and external wounds to heal. George had a promising race at Imola, but it ended in disaster due to a big crash with Valtteri Bottas and he only spent a few days by Fiona's side before leaving to go to Portugal and Spain. Fiona missed working for the team, but she missed being around people the most. Her mom stayed with her for a few days after she came home from the hospital and her parents visited her as much as they could, but seeing as most of her friends worked for the team and they were travelling for work, Fiona was pretty lonely.
George had a solid weekend in Barcelona, finishing 14th in the race and Fiona liked the fact that she was able to watch the last few races from home instead of having to work. But she couldn't wait for her boyfriend to come home again. Her scar was healing very well and the medication she was taking now, helped a lot with the pain. She hadn't told George about her conversation with the doctor yet and it was starting to eat away at her from the inside. She didn't want to keep anything from him, after her relationship with Miles, she wanted nothing but honesty and trust between them. So she was going to tell him this afternoon when he came over on his way home from the airport.
Fiona was glad she could finally walk to the supermarket near her house again, so she could get some ingredients for dinner this evening. She also bought a few snacks, since George had a few days off she thought he deserved some nice treats. The bag wasn't too heavy to carry back home and when she got there Fiona put away the groceries and made sure her apartment was tidy before she sat on the sofa, waiting for George to arrive. She had taken a few photos this morning after she got ready and seeing as it had been a while since she posted something online, Fiona decided to upload them to Instagram to give everyone a little update on her situation.
