Mokita - Love Alone:
'You've got to know my heart's been broken a few times before. If I seem closed off or distant it's not personal, I wanna let you in but I don't know how to. Before I say the things I want to I need to know that I'm not falling in love alone this time'
Mason and his friends had done exactly what he said he would do. They stayed close to her, even talking to her while others were taking pictures of the garage and looking around. Fiona could feel Miles' eyes burn holes in her body from the back of the crowd, but she felt safe with the three guys around her. When the tour finished, they walked her back to the hospitality while the other guests went to find their seats for the third practice. "Thank you guys again, I really appreciate it". Fiona said when they arrived back at the big building. "No problem at all, thank you for the great tour. And if there's ever any more trouble, just send me a message on Instagram, okay?" Mason said before they watched Fiona walk into the hospitality unit.
When she finally sat down at an empty table at the back to take five minutes rest, Fiona's mind started spinning. She couldn't believe what had just happened. One minute she was admiring the fact that she was guiding three England football players through the paddock on her birthday before she stood eye to eye with her cheating ex-boyfriend. Then he started hurting her and Mason Mount was suddenly there to rescue her? It sounded like a good plot twist in a fanfiction book if anything. Fiona took a sip from her water bottle, she felt another headache come up. But this time it wasn't from her period, because that ended last night.
Fiona watched the free practice and qualifying from behind the coffee bar where she was stood for the rest of the day and she was happy to see the boys finish P15 and P18. The fact that they weren't the typical last cars on the grid anymore, gave them a sense of motivation and Fiona knew it would be only going up from here. Miles hadn't stepped foot inside the building again and Fiona let out a big breath of relief when her shift was over. "Hello madame, are you ready?" Madeleine suddenly appeared in the room when Fiona was taking off her apron and her brows furrowed. "Ready for what?" She asked her best friend, who had the biggest grin on her face.
"Well, I was sent by your boyfriend to collect you. We're going out for dinner for your birthday!" Maddie said, clapping in her hands excitedly. A huge smile grew on Fiona's face and she loved the fact that she got to spend her special night with the most important people in her life right now. Her parents were the ones missing, but she had spoken to her mom on the phone via FaceTime this morning already. "Come on, we have to get ready!" Madeleine said before she pulled her through the mass of people towards the exit of the paddock. The girls walked back to the hotel and took their turns showering before they started on their makeup.
"You know this is why we went dress shopping earlier this week, right?" Madeleine couldn't keep it in any longer. She had been dying to tell Fiona about George's idea for days and she could finally let it out. Fiona's mouth fell open and she gave her best friend a glare. "You knew about this the entire time?" The blonde girl nodded, making Fiona throw her eyeshadow brush across the room. She couldn't believe her boyfriend and her best friend had been scheming behind her back. Madeleine turned the music up a little louder and they both danced while getting ready for an amazing night.
When Fiona took off her robe to get into the beautiful blush pink satin dress she had bought earlier that week, she noticed small bruises on her shoulder. A slight panic started forming in her head, 'what if George saw them tonight?' She didn't want anyone to know what had happened this morning, so she tried to cover them up with concealer as best as she could. She also let her hair down so it would cover it as well. After spraying some perfume and stuffing her new brown leather purse with her phone, room key and some money, Fiona sat down on the bed to put on her new matching heeled sandals.
