SLANDER & Said The Sky - Potions:
'Every time you said a word, I was starin' at your lips, I don't think I've ever been so close to a love like this. I never met someone, met someone like you. I never felt this way, felt this way, ooh'

After the dance with her dad, Fiona snuck away to the toilet. She was getting a bit overwhelmed. All she kept replaying in her head, were George's blue eyes on her and it nearly drove her mad. While she was washing her hands, her mom came into the room. She smiled at her, but it faded quickly when she spotted the look on her daughter's face. "What's wrong, honey?" She asked, immediately cradling her daughter against her chest. "I don't know, mom". Fiona answered, her breathing ragged and shallow. "It's George, isn't it? I saw the way you two were looking at each other". Fiona chuckled as her mom hit the nail right on the head. "I like him so much, mom". "Well, what's the issue then, dear?" Her mom immediately asked with the sweetest look on her face.

"Isn't it too soon? I just broke up with Miles a week ago.." Fiona turned around to check her makeup in the mirror before she looked at her mom again. "Sweetie, let me tell you this.. " Eveline started while she took her daughter's face in her hands. "I have never, in almost two years time, seen Miles look at you like I saw George look at you the second we stepped out of our gate at home. This boy is polite, well-spoken, incredibly handsome and he reminds me a lot of your dad when we were younger with the way he's treating you. Don't let him get away, Fiona. You'll regret it.." Fiona felt the tears prickle behind her eyes, knowing her mom was right. She nodded slowly and her mom placed a soft kiss on her forehead. "Thank you, mom". Fiona said before she hugged her and exited the bathroom again.

When she came back into the dining hall, she spotted George talking to her now uncle Sam. "Hey, there you are. I thought you got lost on the way back or something". George laughed while Sam waved to tell them he was going back to his wife. "George.. Can I talk to you outside for a moment?" Fiona asked him and his facial expression changed to concerned when he noticed the tear-filled eyes that were looking at him. "Of course, come on". He placed his hand on her lower back and accompanied Fiona to one of the terraces of the castle. They sat down on a bench and George turned his body towards her, anxiously waiting for her to start speaking. "Is everything alright?"

"Being here today, seeing my aunt getting married to the love of her life, seeing my parents and grandparents together and dancing with you has made me realize something". Fiona said while the first tear rolled down her cheek. George instinctively lifted his hand to wipe it off her face and held his thumb on her skin to stroke it. "I'm falling in love with you, George". It was almost a whisper, but loud enough for George to hear her and she noticed his body relax a little when she had said it. "I'm falling in love with you too, beautiful Fiona". His thumb was still caressing her cheek and the sensation gave her goosebumps everywhere.

"Are you cold?" George asked and before Fiona could even respond, he had taken off his suit jacket and he placed it over her shoulders. "I know you said that you wanted to wait because I had just come out of a relationship, but I can't hide my feelings anymore". Fiona was looking down at her hands, where she was fiddling with the hem of her dress until she felt George's finger under her chin. He lifted her face a bit, so he could look her straight in the eyes. This moment had been on their minds ever since the night at the club a week ago and George wasn't going to let anyone disturb them now. "Can I please kiss you?"

Fiona's lips curled up into a smile and she gave him the smallest nod, but it was all he needed to lean his face closer to hers. Fiona's eyes fluttered closed the moment his lips touched hers and she had never felt electric sparks fly through her body before but when George kissed her, it was as if she was on fire. The kiss stayed slow and innocent, the both of them enjoying this longly anticipated moment together. After a while, George gently pulled away and leaned his forehead against Fiona's while letting out a small sigh. "You're so perfect". Fiona closed her eyes again and felt at peace for the first time in a long time. This was what it was meant to be like.
