Ali Gatie - It's You:
'It's you, it's always you. If I'm ever gonna fall in love, I know it's gon' be you. It's you, it's always you. Met a lot of people, but nobody feels like you so please don't break my heart, don't tear me apart. I know how it starts, trust me, I've been broken before'

"You guys can stay over at my place if you want.. I have a few spare rooms". George said when the four of them were on their way back to his house in an Uber. Fiona hadn't gotten back into the party mood after seeing the picture of Miles and his 'new' girlfriend and it was nearly 2 AM anyway, so they all decided it was best to just go home. "Yeah sure, if you don't mind. Fi, do you want to stay with George tonight?" Maddie asked her friend and it took a while before the brunette responded with a small nod. She was laying against George again, just like on the way to the club, but this time it wasn't because of too little room, she just needed someone to comfort her.

"Just close your eyes for a second". He whispered to her before he lightly kissed her hair. Fiona had drifted off to sleep pretty soon and she felt a little better when George slightly nudged her to wake her up 15 minutes later. "Come on, little one. Let's get you inside". He told her and she buried her face a little deeper in his side for a second to hide the smile that formed because of the nickname he gave her. When they got back inside, George poured a final drink for the four of them and they sat on the sofa for another half hour, just talking about their night before he decided to show them the guest rooms. "You can pick any of them, my room is down the hall". George told them.

"Can you stay up with me for a little while longer? I just need someone to talk to and I don't want to bother Maddie right now". Fiona quietly asked him, while Madeleine and Toby were picking out a room to stay in. She loved seeing her best friend getting closer to this boy, they were really well suited for each other. "Yeah sure, come on". George said and she was a little confused when he walked over to his bedroom instead of back downstairs. "We can talk in here for a while if you want?" Fiona nodded. She was sad, tired and just wanted someone to keep her company so she didn't mind at all. Before she even noticed what he was doing, George pulled a t-shirt and a pair of shorts from his closet and handed them over to her, before he left the room for her to change.

Fiona changed into his clothes and sat down on the bed, just blankly staring at her phone waiting for him to return. When he came back, George had changed into a hoodie and some sweatpants as well and he looked so cosy. He joined her on the bed and they were quiet for a few minutes before Fiona finally spoke up. "I'm really sorry for ruining the night like this". George immediately shook his head and he placed his hand on her arm. "You didn't ruin the night one bit. I had one of the best nights ever up until that moment. And even after that, I think you composed yourself really well". Fiona smiled at him and focused on his fingertips tracing circles on her upper arm. He really knew how to get her to relax.

"Please believe me when I say that he is a complete dickhead. He never even deserved to be with you in the first place. He lost the best girl out there and I hope he realizes that one day.." George said, his eyes focused on the deepening colour of her cheeks. "Thank you, George. For everything. You have been such an amazing friend these past few weeks and I don't really know what I did to deserve that. All I've done is whine about my period cramps and my shitty boyfriend". George let out a chuckle and Fiona looked up, starting to giggle with him. Her life hadn't been easy these past few weeks, but it had simultaneously been the best time of her life as well.

Fiona's thoughts went back to the moment they shared in the club. 'Should she say something about it? Did he already forget it nearly happened?' But as always, the words just slipped out of her mouth. "George, if that fan hadn't interrupted us for a photo tonight.." She started. "I would have kissed you.." George said without hesitation. Fiona looked down at her hands, she was pulling on the loose skin next to her fingernails again. She was almost expecting him to say something about it like Miles always did, when he suddenly gently pulled her fingers away and slipped them in between his own.
