𝕬𝖋𝖙𝖊𝖗 𝖆 𝖓𝖎𝖌𝖍𝖙 of eating, dancing, and frolicking Phoenix was worn out and forgot to give Phoebe her sleeping draught. Meaning the girl would be up all night due to her insomnia. It was a trait that seemed to flow throughout their family, luckily Phoenix wasn't passed that gene, or her Mother would've had a handful.

Phoenix awoke to the soft whisper of her name echoing in the night. Scrambling up and searching for the source of the disruption, she yanked the covers off of her and was led outside to where a nymph informed her of the fate of Aslan and her sister's whereabouts. From the knowledge given by the nymph, due to her lack of sleep, Phoebe had taken a "stroll" with the Daughters of Eve and they fell upon Aslan. And he made the ultimate sacrifice, a life for the life of a Son of Adam. Edmund Pevensie.

She quickly ran to wake up Oreius and her troop leaders. Then she awoke Jax and went on a search for the Pevensie brothers.

Under the protection of a tent, Jax rested on the table next to the battle plans Phoenix had crafted to perfection. He yawned a slow and drawn-out one, spitting a ball of red and orange flames at Phoenix. The princess refrained from flinching as the flames had not even seemed to touch her. Edmund eyed her attire, noticing the thick and rough material that kept her body protected from the kisses of the flames.

Oreius, Edmund, and Phoenix waited patiently for Peter and Arcturus to give them the news of Aslan, for they could not continue on without him. His presence was crucial for the next step of battling against the common foe, Jadis. Phoenix already had some ideas in store for the future leaders of Narnia. She often studied her Father's and other historical battles to help her become a more tactical fighter and leader.

"She's right. He's gone." Peter solemnly told them. Phoenix looked to her cousin for confirmation of this devastating claim, he simply nodded, twiddling his fingers. She simply consulted her best friend for any sort of solace, rather the dragon lay half asleep on the table and she petted his thick skin. For once she was rendered utterly and entirely speechless.

"Then you'll have to lead us. Peter, there's an army out there and it's ready to follow you." Edmund said with a hopeful look in his eye.

"I can't," Peter admitted, looking quite ashamed of himself.

Phoenix drew a breath, valiantly stepping up to the task. "I can help you. I've studied battles for years and I have a few things we can use." Peter turned to Phoenix with his jaw slack. He had never expected her to help him, especially after their first encounter.

"Aslan believed you could. And so do I." Edmund declared, pleading with his brother with only his eyes.

"Might I add, we have a dragon on our side." Peter looked at the dragon which couldn't be any bigger than the average house cat, with an unimpressed look.
