Chapter Twelve

We just arrived at my parents house. Harry drove with us but he went to see his parents across the street.

"Okay wait here and when I tell you to come inside then you come in." I say putting my hand on Liam's shoulder. He's been really nervous.

"Got it. I love you Ellie." He says giving me a quick but passionate kiss. 

"I love you too." I smile before getting out of the car. I walk up to the door and am about to knock before my Mother opens the door.

"Ellie you're finally home!" She says pulling me into a tight hug. 

"Mom I can't breath." I laugh. She let's me go.

"Come in! You're Father and I have been waiting all day!" She says pulling me inside. 

"Ellie!" My Dad says once he see's me, pulling me into a not as tight hug as my Mom's. 

"I missed you Dad." I say.

"I missed you too. I'm happy you're home." He says, letting me go.

"Did you bring Harry?" My Mom asks me.

"Yeah he's saying hi to his parents and then they're coming here for dinner." I say, putting my hand into my pocket.

"Oh that's great! I can't wait to see him and hear all about your guy's college adventures!" She says like we do thing that are so spectacular. 

"I actually wanted to introduce you to someone.." I say nervously.

"Oh okay.." My Mother says sounding suspicious. I step outside and wave for Liam to come inside. He smiles at me shyly and gets out of the car. He comes inside and I grab his hand. 

"Mom, Dad, this is Liam. My boyfriend." I say with a small smile. I wait for their reaction along with a very nervous Liam. He's more nervous than I was to meet his parents.

"Oh! How wonderful! It's so nice to meet you Liam." My Mother says stealing Liam from me and capturing him in a hug.

"It's nice to meet you too Mrs." He smiles. 

"I'm Ellie's Dad, you look like a nice lad." My Dad says holding his hand out to Liam. Liam shakes his hand happily.

"Well I'd like to think I'm nice." Liam chuckles. 

"Well why don't you two go get settled upstairs. I'll show you to the guest room Liam." My Mom says with a smile.

Harry and his parents are finally here for dinner now. Liam and I are walking down to see them all. I let go of Liam's arm and give Anne and Harry's step Dad Robin a hug. 

"Ellie, how have you been?" Anne asks me.

"I've been good." I smile at her.

"I see you found yourself a boyfriend." She says looking behind me at Liam who is talking to Robin and my Dad now while Harry chats up my Mom.

"Yeah I did. His names Liam." I blush.

"He seems lovely hun." She says.

"Anne, this is Liam." My mom introduces Liam for me. 

"Nice to meet you Liam." She says giving him a short hug.

"Nice to meet you too Mrs. Twist." He says.

Once everyone has introduced themselves we sit down at the dining table and begin to eat. Harry sits across from me and keeps kicking me for some reason. He kicks once again and this time I retaliate. I kick him hard in the shin. He whimpers and pulls his hand down to his leg.

"You alright Harry?" My Dad asks clearly hearing Harry.

"Uh yeah I'm fine." He says. I smirk at him knowing that I kicked him hard. He glares at me and I laugh on the inside.

Dinner goes by slowly and after we all eat Harry and his parents head home. Overall it was good day. Everyone seems to really like Liam. Well besides Harry. I hope one day Harry does come to like Liam.

When Harry and I were younger we would sneak out at night and meet in the field behind our houses. It was where we went when one of had a bad day and needed to talk or if we just needed to think. So that's where I'm going right now. Not because I'm upset or anything but just because I couldn't sleep so thought maybe I'd take a walk out here.

I sit in the quiet field alone, staring off into the distance. This past month with Liam has been great, almost too great. Usually my relationship would go wrong by now. I still can't believe that Olivia cheated on Harry. The anger I felt towards her is just- I can't even describe it. 

"Hey." I hear a voice. I turn to look at who it is and see Harry. I thought it would be. He's the only person who knows I come here.

"Hey." I say rubbing my arms as a breeze comes by. Harry notices and slipes the sweatshirt he was wearing off, handing it to me. 

"Here, you're cold." He says. I push the sweater away.

"No keep it, you're cold." I say.

"Ellie just take it." He says sternly letting me know he's not gonna budge. I roll my eyes and take the sweatshirt and slip it over my head. I scoot closer to him and wrap my arms around his body that way he's somewhat warm. 

He chuckles, "So what's on your mind?" 

"Just Liam." I say, resting my head against his shoulder.

"What about Liam?" He asks.

"My family seems to really like him." 

"And that's a bad thing?" He laughs.

"No it's not...it's just-"

"I don't like him.." He finishes my sentence.

"Yeah.." I sigh. "I don't like knowing you don't approve him and I don't even know why." 

"Ellie...It's not that I don't like him it's just I don't like the thought of you having a boyfriend..." He explains.

"Harry I'm 18." I say. "I don't say anything when you get a girlfriend." 

"Mhm sure, I see that pure evil look you give them." He teases.

"I do not!" I say, lightly punching his arm. 

"You do too! When I brought Olivia to our movie night you glared at her the whole night!" He laughs.

"Okay so maybe I was..but to be fair you guys made out the whole time." I defend with a slight laugh.

"That's very true." He chuckles. Our laughter dies down and we're left in silence. I stare at his slightly parted lips and rosy cheeks. Our faces are only an inch away. Harry starts to lean in. Why am I leaning in too? I have a boyfriend but somethings pulling me to Harry. I just want to feel his lips against mine. 

"We should probably get going, it's late and cold." I say stopping whatever was about to happen. Harry looks slightly disappointed but nods and gets up, pulling me along. 

What would of happened if I didn't say anything? Would I have kissed Harry and cheated on Liam?
