"Your highness you should fight."  one of your ladies in waiting was urging you, as chaos ran rampant around you.

In your Temple your head was bowed in prayer, your eyes were closed as you recounted a mantra over and over again. Your spoken words would be your power. You refused to fight, you didn't want to fight.  Yes, you were the goddess of war but you were also the goddess of peace and peace you would maintain.

"Your highness please!" The young lady in waiting begged.

You wouldn't budge. For Nour, you wouldn't fight. You wanted to protect him you wanted to keep him safe, forever. This was the only way to keep him from being killed. You had been chanting for three days and three nights, a steady chant that didn't even once betray your desperation. Your servants continued to fight on your behalf as those blue eyes continued to burn in your mind.  All this was for love.

For love.

You awoke, your lips were dry and cracked, your body ached, you didn't even have the energy to take in your surroundings. There was silence at long last. Was the war over...? Why was it so quiet?

Forcing your body off the ground you stumbled across the landscape.

Oh.

It was because everyone was dead.

Desperately you scoured the landscape, tears falling freely. All your precious servants, all cold and empty, once vibrant eyes were vacant. There were gone. It wasn't supposed to come to this. You had promised...please let at least one soul have survived.

"Nour!" You screamed into the silence. "Please, Nour! Where are you?"

Do you know what the sad part was? There was no echo. It was too empty now for one. Your once beautiful home and paradise was a desolate wasteland. You had been a coward and now you had nothing, it was too late. If only you had a bit of darkness in your heart.

"Long live the Queen." A voice sneered.

You stared back at those blue eyes, the blue eyes that reminded you of lagoons and sapphires. Eyes that you once thought were beautiful were filled with such ice. Such beautifully evil eyes.

You were a lone survivor. He had won the battle, but he had not won the war.

"In another life Nour." You had whispered.

The inscription of your crown read:

"Astarte queen of the heavens", as it clattered on the barren ground going up in flames.

...wait for me Nour.

You woke up slowly, eyes adjusting to the darkness. How long had you been asleep? You stared up at the stars posing the question. They only silently winked back unable to answer. Warm arms were wrapped around you, as Jin's quiet breathing centred you. You had fallen asleep in his arms hours before. After the shower, you had talked. About nothing and everything, his words had been gentle and reassuring, he held your face and kissed your forehead. He had told you he had loved you multiple times. You laughed and joked, he had been your universe and now you lay awake thinking of someone else. You didn't realise you were crying until you felt the wetness of your cheeks. You were betraying someone, but who? Nour or Jin? How could you forget Nour?

With a sigh you got out of bed moving to a window watching the waning moon, thinking about the story of the rabbit living on the moon. Even though long ago a friend had told you it wasn't true, back when you were Queen. They had told you the humans had made that up, you had thought that those humans were creative for such an intriguing story. You couldn't picture the face of the friend, squeezing your eyes shut you could just about make out a smile.
