You were a goddess.

Not just any goddess. You were once Queen... No, you didn't want to believe this...For your own good, you had to forget that this ever happened. You had to forget again. It wasn't like you had fully remembered but you didn't want to remember anymore.

Tears streaked down your face...a feeling of foreboding pooled like thick black treacle. You didn't need to remember. You wanted to lead a normal ordinary life. That's all you had ever wanted, that's all you had ever dreamed of. To fall in love with a man, have children and lead an ordinary fruitful life.

Instead, your man was Jin. He watched you with now sand coloured hair, you liked that his sideburns were always a little darker than the rest of his hair, his skin was far more tanned and olive in this state, his eyes become the colour of running honey. He was absolutely Seraphic. Nothing like the simple man you had longed for, far from it. It felt like the universe was playing a cruel joke on you, you asked for an ordinary man and forced you to fall in love with someone extraordinary.

"You knew."

You couldn't even bring yourself to phrase it as a question. There was no point in waiting for his answer. There was a possibility he would lie to you if he did you wouldn't be able to control the intense emotions clamouring to the surface inside of you.

"Jin I don't want to be a goddess."
It was as simple as that, the room was starting to swirl, you fighting the urge to throw up.

"You have to be...the universe is falling apart around us. Both of you can't exist."

"Both?"

Jin nodded.

"You and grandfather can't both exist as head gods, you have to go back and restore the universe's equilibrium."

"I can't." You replied honestly. You couldn't, Jin knew the time wasn't right anyway. You had no control over your powers, even if you did your body was mostly mortal, you would tear your body apart.

Jin was really leaving everything in your hands. In truth, he only knew you were  the head goddess fated to claim what was once yours. That's all he knew, he was still in the dark about most other things. No one had ever explained why you had disappeared or who you were before and what your powers were like. Every time he tried to do the research it was always as if you had never existed in the first place.

The room had become distorted as some feeling of fear gripped you tightly, dragging you into the dark depths, the room was still spinning. A spark of memory rose to the surface but you couldn't even process it, it just inspired more fear. All the hair on your skin stood up on end, a shiver travelled through your body.

"Nour...I can't do this."

Your eyes felt so heavy.

The breeze wafted the smell of fresh grass and wildflowers towards you. Your mind wasn't racing for once as you sat up. Birds chirped in the distance, singing a song just for you. There was the constant and steady crash of the waterfall, as the roaring water fell into a deep sparkling pool, light bouncing dreamily off the surface, as it glistened like the stars at night.

The sun had barely risen above the horizon, despite this, it did it's duty best to cast the darkness away. Shadows flittered over your face. Inhaling and exhaling, you picked yourself off the damp grass, standing at the edge of a stream.

You lifted your cotton white dress that was now embroidered with little white flowers, it had a vintage square neckline with puffed sleeves. Barefoot, you dipped your toe in the cool water, before allowing your whole foot to plunge in the shallow pool, soon both your ankles were encircled by the icy grip of the stream as if it were an anklet.
