24| family dinner

It was the next day and Derek mother and Amelia and Liz had decided to come and visit along with Lizzie's husband so Derek wasn't the only man in the room

Derek was wearing black dress pants and a red button-up shirt with his hair styled as usual while Meredith wore a long maroon dress with short sleeves and long black gloves with her dirty blonde hair split down the middle curled

Amelia was on the floor playing with the triplets and singing children's song which she somehow knew all the words too while Meredith and Lizzie talked about her and Dereks Hunny moon in Greece as Carolyn cooked in the kitchen

Meredith was telling Liz about the sickness and mood swings she's been having and how she noticed she had put on a little bit of weight, Liz kept trying to convince Meredith to go take a pregnancy test and was sure it would turn out positive

"Liz, I don't even own pregnancy tests" Meredith protested also trying to keep it down so Derek or Carolyn wouldn't hear

"Fine, I'll go buy you one," she said standing up

"No, Lizzie I don't need one because I'm not," Meredith said starting to get mad

"Derek's right, you are cute when you're mad" Lizzie giggled which made Meredith even madder as Lizzie went and grabbed her keys

"I'm going to go get some wine" Lizzie said and before anyone could say anything she was gone

As Meredith waited for Liz to get back she started wondering if Liz had been right about the whole being pregnant thing all of her symptoms added up to pregnancy and she had put on a little weight, Meredith put her hand on her stomach and pushed, it was somewhat hard

She got up and went into the kitchen while Derek and Chris were in the dining room, she walked up to Carolyn while she was cooking

"Do you think I look pregnant?" Meredith whispered

"Do you mean that because you actually think you might be pregnant or are you asking me that because you want my opinion if you look fat or not?"

"The first one" Meredith answered

Carolyn turned to Meredith as she dried her hand on the tea towel, put the towel down and put both hands on the small bump on Meredith's stomach
She stared to the side for a bit and after about 30 seconds she replied

"Yes and if my fortune-telling skills still work it's twins girls" she smiled and looked at Meredith's then went back to cooking

Meredith stood there stunned at her mother-in-law's words, she didn't say anymore and went back to the couch and watched the boys play with their aunt Amelia, could she really be pregnant the whole twin part kinda surprised her but she already had triplets so could it really that shocking, but girls?, that's impossible the grey DNA was far too strong for the shepherd DNA to give her a little girl let alone two

But she was taken out of her thoughts when Derek came and sat next to her

"Hey, you alright?" He asked as he kissed her cheek

"Yea, I'm fine" she smiled

"Okay" he smiled he kissed her on the lips

"I'm back!" Liz yelled as she made her way back into the house

"Here you go mer, oh and there's some angry Bitch at your door," she said as she handed the bag to mer and sat next to her on the couch

"Nancy" Meredith mouthed to Liz

"No, I don't know who it is" Liz mouthed back

Then there was a loud banging on the door

"Who the hell is that," Meredith said as she went to go get the door
