They say that life is full of surprises. You never know who you are going to meet that will change your life forever. Life would bring you experiences that you never asked for. It will challenge you, motivate you, teach you how to love and to let go.

Every day, you wake up thinking what should be done, what should be accomplished, what should be the goal of your life. Every day, you wake up living a life that you may or may not want, but every day, do you ask yourself, who or what do you even live for? What inspires you to move and dream?

Carlos shuffled on the bed when he heard the alarm clock. He scrambled over the bedside table and reached out to switch it off.

Wake up, Caloy.

He groaned and went back to sleep. He stayed up late the night before to finish some work and crawled to bed when his eyes were starting to shut.

Wake up, Babe, your daughter needs you.

He heard her voice in his mind and opened his eyes. He looked at the other side of the bed that's empty. He sighed and decided to stand up, but before he could even get up, the door swung open.

"Dada!"

A smile was instantly etched on his face when his 2 ½ year old daughter came barging in. He swooped her up and placed her on the bed beside him.

"Hi, love! Where's Daddy's morning kiss?" Callie placed her small palms on his cheeks, squeezing them, and kissed him.

"Mownin, Dada!"

"Good morning, my Callie bear! You're so early naman, 'nak!"

"Because Callie hungwy alweady!"

He chuckled. "Hungry na?" She nodded. "Okay, what are we eating for breakfast?" He brushed her hair with his fingers and tucked it behind her ears.

"Pantates!"

"Pancakes?" The little girl nodded. "You love pancakes?" She nodded again. "Okay! Pancakes for my baby."

If there's one thing that Callie took from Lia aside from her beauty, it was their love for breakfast food. His daughter was growing up just like his wife and he couldn't be happier about that fact.

The father and daughter made their way to the kitchen and the two happily made their own pancakes from scratch. The little girl enjoyed cooking, trying her best to crack the egg without the shells and mixing the flour and milk without spilling. She carefully and patiently watched as her dad flipped the pancakes and sliced some strawberries and bananas as toppings.

As they sat on the dining table, Callie ate like a pro, feeling all proud of the food that they made.

"It's yummy, Dada!"

He chuckled. "Of course, it's yummy because Callie made them."

Callie's expressions never fail to make him smile. It was what he needed every day to motivate him to go on with his daily life as a father.

"Callie, do you remember what day it is today?" his daughter nodded. "Okay, what is it?"

"Sunday!"

"That's right! And where are we going today?"

"Abu's house!"

"Correct! Abu's excited to see you today. You are just so smart!"

"Callie play with Andie and Lucas today?" his daughter asked.

"Yes. You can play with them today too."

"Yay!" his daughter even clapped her tiny hands in happiness. He's grateful that Callie was brought into the world with instant siblings - thanks to his best friends.
