Carlos puts his phone back into his pocket after reading Lia's message. After a long day's work, he and Anton are at Gary's house since their best friend has been cooped up ever since his son, Lucas, was born. Even though Gary and Lia had a past, they all moved on from that - except maybe for Clara.
He invited Gary to attend Lia's birthday so he can witness their engagement, too, but he turned down the invitation because of daddy duties which he really understands.
So as a way of making up for his absence, Gary asked his best friends to join him for drinks at home and catch up on what's been going on with their lives.
They settled themselves in the garden, enjoying the cool breeze of the night. Gary placed down different bottles of wine, vodka, tequila, whiskey and beer, while the helpers assisted him with the plates, glasses, and ice bucket plus different kinds of pulutan that they can munch on.
"Pare, ikakasal pa ako." Caloy says as a warning. He is uncertain on how the night will end because of the drinks in front of them.
"Alam ko!" Gary says and chuckles.
"Eh parang gusto mong patayin yung atay ko sa dami ng alak na nilabas mo."
"Hindi ko naman sinabi na uubusin natin yan. Choose your poison. Di ko alam kung anong trip niyo eh." Gary says while opening a new bottle of Macallan 15.
"Whiskey na lang sa akin. Kabilin-bilinan ng asawa ko na ayaw niya ng amoy ng vodka at tequila." Anton said and Gary poured a glass for him.
Gary turned to him when he handed the glass to Anton. "Ikaw? Wala naman sigurong pinagbabawal si Lia sa'yo, diba?"
Caloy chuckles. "Wala. Bawal lang daw ako magmaneho ng lasing. Pero whiskey na lang din." He says and Gary gave his portion of the drink.
As they are putting food on their plates, Caloy heard some footsteps from the inside of the house and immediately regretted that he turned towards that direction.
"Hi, boys!" Clara greeted from afar and approached them, trailing behind her is Mel. Both are dressed so he assumed that they came somewhere and just got home.
