Be Mine

Carlos has been walking back and forth in his hotel room, tinkering his phone, trying to solve his problem. He is currently in Cebu and he just found out that his flight that night has been cancelled and moved the next day. It wouldn't be a problem if there's nothing important, but Anton and Ella's wedding is happening the next day, too.

He has been trying to find another available flight but since it's December, everything is booked already. He is frustrated already since this is not the plan from the beginning. He was supposed to be back in Manila the other day but the client had a different request for the product shoot so he needed to stay for a couple of days but he didn't expect that his flight will be cancelled.

He sits down on his bed, still trying to find a solution, and be present for Anton's wedding. He is supposed to be in Tagaytay now, together with the rest of the entourage, yet he is all alone and miles away. He is busy sending a message to the airline when his phone started to ring.

*Lia calling*

A smile slowly crept on his face. He hasn't seen her for weeks and misses her. He picks up the call, "Hello, Lia?"

"Hey... Kumusta sa paghahanap ng flight?", she asks him. Since he found out about his cancelled flight, he messaged her instantly just so someone from the entourage knows what is going on with him. He wanted to message Anton, but he doesn't want to add any stress to the groom.

He sighs while lying down on the bed, "Wala pa rin. Nagtanong na rin ako para maging chance passenger pero full flights daw lahat. The only available one is before lunch. I can't wait for a 10am flight, Lia. Hindi ako aabot ng 2pm sa Tagaytay."

He hears her sigh, too. "I know, Caloy. I'm trying to find ways also. I keep checking online if meron sa ibang airlines."

"Sa lahat pa naman kasi ng araw na mangyayari ito, ngayon pa.", he rants. He is frustrated. He never thought he would get stressed over flying back home. "Anyway, anong sabi nila Anton?"

"I told him kanina, but all he said is... he has faith that his best man will be here tomorrow.", he smiles at what she said. "They are currently busy with their balikbayan relatives."

His brows furrowed, "Hindi ba dapat hindi na sila magkita ni Ella? Bawal yun diba?"

Lia giggles, "Hindi daw naniniwala yung kaibigan mo doon. Hindi ata humiwalay kay Ella maghapon. Wala na rin kaming magawa kasi mga inasikaso rin sila maghapon. Don't worry, as the maid of honor, I'll make sure that Ella will show up. I just hope that the best man will do his job, too, by being there for the groom."

He chuckles and then it turns into a sigh, "I know... I just hope I can find a 6am flight so I can arrive at 7am, get my car and things then drive there."

"I told you to leave your things with me pero ang kulit mo rin..", she says. She has been insisting to get hold of the things that he needed for the wedding, but he doesn't want to hassle her, so he declined the offer. Now he is regretting it.

"I know. Sorry, I didn't expect it this way.", he says.

"Anyway, I will try to find a way, too, then update you. Hopefully, we can get you a flight, Caloy. Please take care over there and try to rest.", he hears her smile.

He smiles, "I will, Love. Ingat kayo, ha. See you tomorrow. I love you."

He hears her smile before she answers him, "See you.", she says and hangs up.

He sighs after the call. She helped making him feel better. Her calls would always cheer him up whenever they are not together. He just hopes that he finds a way to be back in Manila and prioritize Anton's wedding.
