It is just eight in the morning and Carlos is already in the office, preparing himself for the things needed for the day. He checked his calendar for the day and saw the series of meeting that he needs to attend. His secretary, Kim, entered to let him sign some papers. He was already on the last folder when Kim reminded him about his schedule.
"Sir, tumawag po si Mr. Velasco..", she starts.
"Siya yung 7pm dinner meeting di'ba?", he asks.
"Yes, Sir. Pero nagpapa-cancel po. May emergency daw po kasi."
Carlos nodded and thought he can go home early and maybe drop by the grocery to buy some supply for the condo.
"Tapos po, Sir. Your 2:30pm meeting with Ms. Flores.."
"Cancelled din?", he asks in hoping that his work will be lessened for that day.
"Hindi po, Sir. Pero if possible daw po sa labas na lang. May hahabulin daw po kasi silang isa pang meeting. Baka daw po hindi sila umabot if dito sa office yung meeting niyo."
Carlos nodded and handed Kim the folders that he just signed, "Wala naman problema. Ako na lang ang pupunta sa kanya. Saan daw ba?"
Kim checked her notebook where she keeps her boss' schedule.
"Sir, 2:30pm meeting will be at Lia's Café."
And that reminder gave a smile in Carlos' face.
Lianna took the advice of Bianca by taking the day off. She woke up early that day, as usual, and while eating her breakfast, she looked around and realize that her unit needed some cleaning. She put on some music to at least motivate her to move. She told herself to consider the cleaning process as her workout. She got started with the laundry and found some clothes that belonged to Gary. She took a mental note to return them to him once it is clean and dry. While the laundry is busy in the washer, she went to clean the cabinets, fridge, and again took note of the things she needed to buy. She sweeped, mopped, and wiped every crook and cranny to make everything clean. She heard the washer go off and she hung the clothes to have them dry completely. She moved to her bedroom, she changed the sheets, just to notice the scent of Gary's perfume on one of the pillow cases. She sighed at the thought of Gary. She shrugged it off and folded everything so she can bring it to the drycleaners. When she checked the time, it was about almost past one in the afternoon. She thought about just staying at home but she can't help but to think about the café. She wants to be distracted anyway.
When she was all ready, she got her car keys and went to the basement parking lot. The guard, Manong Peter, greeted her.
"Good afternoon, Ma'am Lia!", he greeted her with a smile.
"Hi, Manong! Kumusta?", she greets him back.
"Okay lang po. Alis po kayo, Ma'am?"
"Oo, Manong. Dadaan ako sa café."
"Ma'am. Monday po ngayon. Coding kayo.", reminding her of the day.
Lianna sighed and got disappointed with what she heard, "Shucks. Oo nga. Sige, Manong."
"Pakuha ko na lang po kayo ng taxi sa taas."
"Sige po. Salamat.", as she walks back to the elevator and just wait at the lobby.
She was waiting at the lobby of the condo when a delivery boy entered with a bouquet of flowers. She was hoping it wasn't for her when the receptionist called her attention to say that the flowers are really for her. She took them and read the note,
"Hon,
I'm sorry. Please forgive me. See you on Friday.
Gary"
