Carlos can hear his heartbeat. It's so loud he fears that Lia might hear it, too. It's been almost a minute since he admitted to Lia. The woman that she likes, no scratch that, the woman that he is starting to fall for is not moving. He wants to panic already. "Lia..", he calls her again. "I like you, Lia." She looks at him in the eye. He really wants to panic now. He can feel his sweat going down on his back.
"Caloy.. I.. I.."
Shit. Why did he say those words to her? "You should've waited, Caloy! Now she'll reject you.", his mind is scolding him. He gave her a couple of more seconds, but nothing came out of her mouth. He decided to step back to give her space to breathe.
"Lia, I'm sorry.." Since he is not hearing anything from her. He wants to apologize. He gave her a shock so it's appropriate to say sorry.
"Caloy.. why.. why are you saying sorry?" Finally, he heard her say something.
"Because I told you how I feel. I need to tell you that and I'm sorry if I had to. I just..", he sighs. He took a while to think. "You know what, you don't have to say anything, Lia. Ang importante, nasabi ko sayo yung dapat mong malaman. Nasabi ko sa'yo yung nararamdaman ko sa'yo."
"I'm sorry.. I'm sorry, too."
He smiles. "You don't have to apologize. Ako ang may kasalanan. Nabigla ka sa sinabi ko. I'm so sorry. Alam ko na hindi ka pa handa kaya maghihintay ako. But please, isa lang ang pakiusap ko.." She looks at him, maybe waiting for him to finish. "Please don't push me away. Just give me a chance to still be your friend and to be with you." Lia sighs and nodded. He gave her a smile. That nod is enough for him that night. "Good night, Lia. Rest well."
She gave a small smile. "Good night, Caloy." He walked away and he heard the door close. He stopped and took deep breaths. He didn't realize how hard his heart has been beating the whole time.
Lia is still leaning on her door and looked at the tulips that she is holding. They are beautiful but nothing can compare to what she just experienced that night. How did that happen? Lia sighs. Why does it have to happen all in one night? First it was Gary and now Caloy. She dragged her way to the kitchen to find a vase for the flowers. She arranged it and placed it on top of the dining table. She took a photo, so she has a memory of what happened a couple of minutes ago. She smiled looking at the flowers. What did Caloy see in her?
"I need a shower. Baka sakaling mahimasmasan ako sa nangyari.", she tells herself. She did take a long one and dragged herself to bed. She is staring at the ceiling, waiting for sleep to take over. However, she could not help to check her phone when it beeped.

"So paano nga pag niligawan ka? Will you say yes?", she can hear the voices of Bianca and Ella in her head. Is she ready? How long is he willing to wait?
