Gary just got off from a phone call when his secretary walks in with a bunch of folders for him to sign. His secretary placed and fixed everything on his table. He sighs at the thought of the things he needed to accomplish before heading to his next meeting. It is just ten in the morning and he feels tired already. It has been a long weekend with Clara's family, and it's been like that the past few weeks already. He has been trying to be a good husband and son-in-law by attending golf tournaments, lunches, and staying at home with Clara. However, there are days when he still can't help not to think about Lianna.
"Sir, for checking and signatures po." He nodded and started signing papers. "Tapos po, Sir... the creative team is asking you if the final design of the invitation and layouts of the company ball is approved already?"
"Sorry, please tell them na hindi ko pa nakikita. Is it in my email?", he asks.
"Yes, Sir. But if you want a hard copy, I can have it printed."
"No need. I can go over it with Mr. Concepcion later.", he said and handed the folders that are done. "Thank you, Lisa."
"Welcome, Sir. Mag-oorder po ba ako ng lunch for you today, Sir?"
"Let me think about it. Sabihan na lang kita."
"Okay, Sir.", his secretary said and left.
He checked his email and found the invitation and layout for the company ball. Their company is celebrating its silver anniversary and they needed to make it a spectacular occasion. Investors, fellow business colleagues and important family friends are attending, so he needs to make sure that everything will be in place. He saw some few revisions in the email and instead of replying, he decided to personally go to Carlos and discuss all the revisions personally. Besides, it's been a while since he saw his best friend.
He went five floors down and all the employees greeted him as he passed by. From the glass window he saw Caloy on the phone, with a smile plastered on his face. Carlos saw him and raised a hand to acknowledge him. He entered the office.
Caloy chuckles, "Yes, Ma'am. I will." He sat on the chair in front of Caloy's table while waiting for his phone call to end.
"Sunduin na lang kita for dinner, Lia." Gary suppresses his sigh. Of course, he is talking to Lianna. He knows that the two are going along well, based on their social media accounts that they have been posting. He looks at Carlos who is smiling like a boy and he knows that smile. He knows how his best friend is when he falls in love. He knows that Caloy is already head over heels with Lia and that puts a pang in his heart.
"Bye, Lia. See you later.", Carlos says and hangs up. "Yes, Sir Gary, what can I do for you?"
Gary chuckles. He hates it when Caloy calls him "Sir" unless they are surrounded by the other employees, which Caloy insisted on calling him to show respect.
"Hindi talaga bagay kapag galing sayo.", Caloy chuckles at his comment. "Mukhang ang saya mo sa kausap mo ah!"
Carlos smiled, "Lia is just amazing, Pare. Binubuo niya yung araw ko." Gary gave a timid smile because he knows what his friend is talking about. Lia is really that kind of a person that lights up your day. "She's one of a kind. I'm really happy with her."
"Kayo na ba?", he could not help but to ask.
"Hindi pa. Pero sana malapit na.", Caloy said. Gary peeked on his phone and saw Caloy's wallpaper - Lia's beautiful face.
Gary gives him a nod and asked, "Mahal mo na, Pare?" He saw how Caloy smiled after he asked the question and he got his answer. Caloy did not say anything and he doesn't need to because it's obvious already. "Anyway, wag mo na sagutin. Mukhang alam ko na yung sagot.", he says and Caloy chuckled. "I'm here because may konting revisions ako sa layout mo for the company ball.", Gary tells him to change the topic.
