The marauders turned at the sight of Regulus walk in to the great hall, he had been gone for awhile and everyone was starting to get worried.
But him walking in didn't ease their nerves, his hair was messy and eyes dull. When he walked up to them he didn't even acknowledge their presences
"the fuck happened to your fist" Everyone gasped at the look of his hand, dried blood stained his knuckles and scabs were starting to form on the cuts.
"Got in a fight with a mirror, not enjoyable" James took initiative, grabbing Regulus' hand to lightly inspect it.
"Shit Reggie" Regulus stared at the hand holding his, the words the voice said repeating in his head, he couldn't stand it.
"Don't call me that" James moved his hand away, staring at Regulus in confusion and hurt.
"Sorry..." everyone stared at the interaction in confusion, James' brows furrowed together at Regulus' blank expression, staring back at him with no real emotion, lacking the emotion you could feel just looking at the two.
"It's fine" Regulus sat down staring blankly at the gryffindors, none of them knew how to start a conversation with him.
"Stop being a fucking asshole Reg we're trying to help" Sirius grabbed Regulus hand again pulling it towards him, he noticed that there was cuts that look like they had glass shards in them, but he guessed Regulus cleaned himself up after the 'fight with a mirror'
"Sorry" Sirius looked up at Regulus, at his blank expression and his dead eyes, the fuck happened because it wasn't just a fight with a mirror.
"Do you wanna talk?" Sirius' voice was low, just loud enough for Regulus to hear. A trait that was learned for years of hushed conversations at the Black's house.
"Please... later though" Sirius nodded going back to the gryffindors conversation.
Regulus stared down at his shaking hands with discust. What was happening to him.
