Regulus was happy now so why wouldn't the voice leave him alone. In his dreams and lurking behind him in mirrors, Regulus couldn't escape the feeling of dread whenever he saw the black shadow he had come to know so well.

"Please" his voice echoed against the black and white walls of his minds subconscious.

"Theres a war coming, which side do you plan to be on. What would your family think if you joing his side?" Regulus knew about Voldemort, everyone did. But Regulus had to choose a side, it was a simple decision really... but  Bellatrix had been writing him about the ecstatic feeling only replicated by drugs when you torture a muggle born to the point of insanity. He knew what his family expected of him.

"James is my family" Regulus inhaled sharply at the voices dark laugh.

"They will kill him, if you join his side over their's, they will torture him and enjoy every second of it"

Regulus stood still, the nightmare he had come to know of repetition and fear, changed. Now the voice spoke with broken sympathy, a tone of desperation as it trys to get its point across.

And it's right, if Regulus chooses James, his family will kill him, and make him watch. He knew his family, his childhood was broken down by watching his brother be held down by his mother as his father tortures him to the brink of insanity.

"I- I'll end it with him... I'll choose my family" the voice sighed and Regulus could feel the dread of being around it lift, the voice didn't seem so scary anymore... just, desperate. A part of his subconscious that he had built to remove the false optimism that had been built up by the people around him.

There was a reason he didn't ever try to be happy... he wasn't allowed to.

Now the only thing that made him happy he would have to end

I have a plan for another jegulus book after this one. It'll be called Icarus and I started working on it a few days ago. :)
