For the remainder of their trip, Hashirama and Mito left everything that happened on the first night unspoken. They didn't make any other attempts, even though Hashirama offered a few times out of guilt. Mito was quick to dismiss anything he said about it. She just wanted to enjoy the rest of their time without worrying.
Now they were on their way back home. It was supposed to be a weekend of relaxation, but Hashirama was more stressed than before. His mind was set on finding Madara immediately once they walked through the gates of the village. It was already getting dark, so by the time they made it home, no one would be around to see him at Madara's.
"I can't wait to be in my own bed," Mito sighed as she squeezed Hashirama's arm.
"Before I head home, I have some business I need to attend to." Hashirama replied dryly, completely ignoring her comment.
Mito giggled. "You mean that you need to see your mistress?"
Hashirama rolled his eyes and did his best to hold back a smile. "That's one way to put it."
"Well, don't be out too late. Your brother will probably visit in the morning." she advised.
The village was now in sight and it was relieving to see. Hashirama's pace quickened, with Mito dragging along beside him.
He walked Mito to their home first and promised to be home early, before making a beeline towards Madara's house.
Hashirama passed by the same buildings as he usually did to get to Madara's. Closer to his home, there was a bar that he usually slipped behind as a short-cut. However, as he approached it, he noticed someone familiar leaving.
Madara.
With a woman clinging to his waist.
"Hey!" Hashirama shouted, feeling a bit of rage coming over him.
He didn't even want to call out to him, but the word spilled out of him.
Madara spun around to meet him with the girl in tow. A wicked grin smeared across his face. He knew Hashirama couldn't say anything to him. Not like this, and not out for the world to hear.
"Oh! Lord Hashirama! Please, pardon me!" the young woman said, adjusting her sloppy, drunken appearance. She did her best to appear proper in front of him, but she was nearly fumbling over herself.
"I'm a bit busy, Hashi. I'll see you at the office tomorrow morning," Madara smirked, pulling the woman closer to him.
He started walking in the other direction away from Hashirama. It felt like his heart was shattering into a million pieces. Madara was doing this out of spite.
"It didn't happen!" Hashirama called out in a desperate attempt to make him stop. It took everything in his power to not let his voice break.
Madara halted. Hashirama could just barely hear him tell the woman a harsh "Go home," before pushing her off of him. He could tell she was protesting, but Madara wasn't paying her attention anymore. She begrudgingly left when she realized he was done with her.
Before Madara could step up in front of him, Hashirama started backing away towards the alley. He was angry and hurt. The last thing he wanted now was to talk to him.
"Are you just saying that?" Madara growled as he grabbed Hashirama's arm to prevent him from going any further.
"Let go of me!" Hashirama cried out.
"Answer my question!" Madara bellowed violently.
Hashirama wriggled out of his grasp and started to run down the alley. He could feel Madara on his heels.
"You always want to talk, so why are you running away now?" Madara taunted.
He snatched Hashirama backwards and shoved him hard against the wall. They were chest to chest as Madara pinned him down.
"You know exactly why I don't want to talk to you!" Hashirama shouted.
"What are you? Jealous?" Madara mocked.
"Is that why you did that? Did you know I was coming to find you? Or did I just get lucky enough to catch you at the right time?" Hashirama seethed.
Madara's hands moved from Hashirama's biceps to wrap around his neck. "I wanted you to feel the way I do!"
"Why would you willingly want to hurt me, you piece of shit!" Hashirama spit out.
"I wouldn't have went through with it!" Madara defended.
Hashirama gritted his teeth. "You still were going to walk home with her! What if I didn't catch you? Would I have found you in bed with her?"
"You go to bed with a woman every night!" Madara argued.
"But I don't have sex with her! We couldn't even go through with the deal because I couldn't keep it up!" Hashirama confessed.
Hearing himself admit it was almost humiliating. Watching Madara's reaction was even worse.
"You couldn't keep it up?" he questioned in a low voice. He let go of Hashirama and took a step back.
"No."
"Because you felt guilty? Or-"
"I just didn't like it, Madara!" Hashirama interrupted frantically.
Madara didn't seem surprised at all, but rather relieved. His features softened as he looked at Hashirama wallow in humiliation.
"That doesn't completely surprise me. You didn't seem like the type to like women," Madara chuckled softly.
"Oh, shut up! What's that supposed to mean?" Hashirama grumbled.
Madara shook his head with a grin. "I'm saying that you're gay. You just like men. It's okay, Hashirama."
It made sense. The feelings Hashirama felt with Mito were uncomfortable and he didn't understand why until now.
"Are you?" Hashirama asked sheepishly.
"I would've been able to finish my business with Mito, if it were me in that situation." Madara smirked.
Hashirama scowled at his comment.
"That makes me feel better knowing you were going home with a woman," Hashirama snapped.
"I told you nothing was going to happen. It was a stupid mistake to make you mad," Madara explained.
Hashirama was visibly upset again. He was fighting back tears now. "That doesn't make it okay, Madara! I'm still incredibly angry at you! You're such an ass!"
"I could make it up to you, if you'll let me," he flirted. His hand was on Hashirama's chest, rubbing small circles with his finger.
"Oh, fuck off. I can tell you're tipsy."
Madara glanced around to see if anyone was nearby before his hand dropped down to the front of Hashirama's pants, groping him.
"You can take out all that frustration on me," he grinned deviously.
Before he could say anything else to convince him, Hashirama yanked away and headed towards Madara's home. He just couldn't resist the offer.
