Hours had passed and it was now nightfall. Hashirama had dozed off and slept the evening away. His eyes went to the window as a look of sadness crept on his face. Madara never came by to see him. This worried him, especially after their argument. The last thing he wanted to do is lose what he had with him.
Hashirama raised out of the bed and tiptoed out of his room. He continued down the hall, stopping in front of the front door.
"What if he doesn't want to see me?" he pondered.
He turned his head and looked back towards Tobirama's room. His brows furrowed and a frown came across his lips.
"He'll be pissed if he notices..."
A sudden bout of courage came over him and he whisked himself out the door. He sped in-between buildings and jumped over rooftops. As he jumped onto the ground, within sight of Madara's home, he heard a voice call out his name. He froze in place.
"Lord Hokage?" a man asked, appearing out of the shadows. It was a Leaf shinobi on night-watch.
"Oh... hi," Hashirama said awkwardly.
"What are you doing, sir? It's 1 A.M.," the shinobi asked, eyeing him suspiciously.
Hashirama shifted nervously, frantically trying to think of an excuse. His eyes fell to the ground below him, avoiding eye contact with the shinobi.
"I was...going for a walk...to clear my mind," he said meekly.
"I saw you jump from the roof, sir," the shinobi hastily replied.
"Oh, well you see, I thought I had heard something up there. It was nothing, though," Hashirama lied, making his cheeks turn bright red.
The shinobi seemed puzzled, but nodded his head.
"Well, have a good night," he beamed before darting into the dark village.
Hashirama watched him until he disappeared. He looked around, making sure no one else could be lurking about. When he felt certain it was safe, he made a dash towards Madara's home.
When he arrived, he immediately snuck around the back of the home. He stopped at Madara'a bedroom window and cupped his hands against the glass to peer inside. Madara was asleep, unaware of Hashirama's presence.
*Tap*
*Tap*
Hashirama tapped his finger on the glass twice, hoping to get Madara's attention. He watched as he stirred awake, immediately looking towards the window at the brunette. He rushed up and opened the window, stepping back to let Hashirama inside.
"What are you doing, Hashirama?" Madara asked in an accusing tone.
Hashirama shut the window once he got inside. He spun around and his eyes met Madara's. The dark haired man looked at him with anger in his eyes. His arms were crossed and his chest was puffed out.
"I needed to see you," Hashirama pleaded in a panicked voice.
Madara's demeanor softened hearing Hashirama's plea.
"I'm sorry I didn't say anything," Hashirama continued, stepping closer to Madara. "It won't happen again."
"I know," Madara said softly.
The brunette pulled him in, caressing Madara's head against his chest.
"I love you," Hashirama whispered shakily.
