Title: Intimidate

Summary: Your relationship with Kageyama is anything but healthy, and you think it's time to call it quits, for both of your sakes. You're sure that you'll both be better without each other. Your boyfriend may not feel the same way.

"What.... What did you just say?"

You ducked your head, tearing your eyes away from Kageyama's horrified gaze. As much as it hurt you too, your breakup was a long time coming.

At first, you really liked him. As frightening and intense the Karasuno setter was, he could be surprisingly gentle and kind to you. Your relationship was filled with sweet smiles, soft kisses, warm cuddles, and pure puppy love.

But it didn't stay that way.

Kageyama became possessive and controlling. You were sure plenty of guys had those tendencies, but you couldn't handle how far your boyfriend was willing to go. Your friends were frightened away by his venom-infused words and vile threats, boys limped away from you with bruises and broken bones, and, if Kageyama had his way, you wouldn't be allowed to step foot outside your house.

The stress of watching everyone you love get pushed farther and farther out of your life had finally gotten to you. It was too much for you to take anymore.

"I think we need to break up." You repeated what you'd said moments earlier, controlling your breathing to keep it at an even pace.

The tall, imposing man stared at you, gaze hardening into a furious glare. You were suddenly hyper aware of how large and empty the gym was. You'd asked him to stay behind after practice, but you now regretted your choice, your heart starting to race.

"We're not breaking up." Kageyama snapped, denial lacing his angry tone.

"Yes, we are." You took a deep breath before continuing, "The way you've been treating me and everyone else isn't fair. It really upsets me and I don't want to keep going through this. I need to have friends and be able to talk to people other than you, but you aren't letting me. It's not healthy."

You were proud of yourself for getting everything you needed to say out, but it didn't make you feel better about anything. Your fondness for Kageyama had tapered off into bitterness long ago, so it was for the best that you parted anyways.

The dark-haired man stared down at you, his expression unreadable, so you shakily added, "Please don't call or text me."

When he didn't respond, you turned and began to walk to the gym doors, ear straining to pick up any suspicious sounds coming from the man. You jolted slightly when you heard a volleyball bounce on the ground, but realized your ex-boyfriend probably just needed an outlet for whatever he was feeling right now.
