He has troubles going to sleep and often feels still extremely guilty of all the wrong Germany did.
In an attempt to fight again it he tries to make sure to give extra care to former colonies.
For example, my OC Tanganyika was dismembered (long before the colonisation due to her albinism), and he made sure to stand for her medical care. That's how the two came nearer to each other.
Germany also regularly provides them shelter at his own home if there are problems. Tanganyika often comes to him because its less sunny (and because she is in love).
