She hates being befriended with people. She fears abandonment.
She started doing cruel and immoral things to keep them away.
Her obsession with Russia is part of it.
She found herself so deep into it, that she refuses to get out.

Her best friend - aside from ghosts - is Prussia. He drags her outside and the two got to know each other more during the cold war.
Belarus felt empathy towards him as he was brought by Russia post-execution.
Belarus actually is protective over him and she also bedriended Hungary through him.
Nowadays, her violence is hard to get rid of as the existing death penalty effects her way of acting.

Belarus is one of the nations whose behaviour is tightly connected to the government.
