Our wedding was perfect and beautiful. It was everything Taylor and I wanted.
We stayed at the lodge that night and then came back to the city yesterday where we all went to dinner for my 28th birthday. It's been an eventful few days, but it's all been so perfect, and Taylor becoming my wife might just be the best birthday present I've ever received.
We said goodbye to my family this morning to head back to Nashville, and it was so sad to leave but we promised to go back out there soon.
"Mama, Mama!" Rosie giggles as she runs into the room, Taylor hot on her tail. "What's going on here?" I laugh as Rosie hides behind the couch, Taylor crossing her arms and giving the little one her best serious but playful face. "Mommy says I need a bath, but I don't wanna bath," I look from my daughter to my wife and Taylor raises her eyebrows at the five year old, "Rosaleigh Dove, you smell like feet!" The singer is trying so hard not to laugh, but Rosie sticks her tongue out at her and Taylor cracks.
"You don't wanna smell like feet when Auntie Selly gets here, do you?" Selena had some stuff to do in New York so she's flying back here later on to hang out for a few days and get some peace from the paparazzi out in LA. "But Mama, you said we could build my castle when we got home," Rosie pouts and I give her a soft smile, "we will, Ro, but if mommy says you need a bath then you need to go take a bath and we'll build it together after, alright?"
She gives an exasperated sigh like the little teenager she thinks she is, "fine," dragging out the 'e' as she walks back around the couch. "Good girl," I laugh as I shake my head, she's got so much personality and she never fails to surprise us with it. "We'll be back soon," Taylor laughs too as she takes Ro's hand and the pair go back upstairs to the kids' bathroom.
"Your big sister is gonna give us a run for our money, little man," I kiss August's forehead as he dozes in and out of the milk coma that's quickly putting him to sleep. We took him for a nap upstairs when we got back, and I swear he was asleep in seconds. We've been travelling so much and he's not used to it, so I'm pretty sure he's glad to be home.
I sigh as I look around, I think we're all happy to be home after the last few weeks.

Our lives always get thrown into disarray when we're travelling, so once I got Rosie to go for a bath and she was all done with that - Karlie put Auggie down for a nap and then went upstairs with Ro to build the castle doll house that her Nana and Papa Kurt got for her, and I took advantage of the peace to get some order back into our home and do some cleaning.
"Tay, come and sit down for five minutes," Selena laughs at me from the kitchen table where she's been watching me reorganise cabinets to try and stay busy. "If I sit down then I'll start worrying," I sigh as I kneel down and open the kids' cabinet that's filled with Auggie's bottles and Rosie's cups and plates and water bottles, and it's basically overflowing.
It's been a week since Lilah went missing and we still haven't heard anything, and I get more and more concerned as the days pass. "Can you at least stop for long enough to come and feel your niece beating me up," I sigh as I look over my shoulder to her and get back up, "how could I even say no to that?" I roll my eyes at the insinuation that I would even think about saying no, and she laughs as I sit down beside her.
"See, she's bouncing all over the place because she knows we're visiting her God-mamas," Selena takes my hand and places it right where the baby is kicking, "that's so precious," shaking my head as I smile, I focus on the crazy feeling. "I'm gonna make sure you're so spoiled, little one, just wait," I tap back as she kicks in response.
