"All I'm saying is we could go and get a test, she did say that we could if we don't want to wait until Monday," Karlie laughs as she pulls her shorts up over her long legs, "baby, it's only a few days. If I'm pregnant today then I'll still be pregnant on Monday." I groan at her response as she picks Auggie up, the toddler having pulled himself up beside her.

After the incident with Lilah, we decided that we'd get away for a couple of weeks. The girls chose Rhode Island - even though we told them we could go anywhere in the world - so we flew out and we've been hanging out here since. Ro loves it since we're right by the water and I've been a little paranoid about being here for so long because usually that brings trouble in the form of the paparazzi. However, I don't think we've been discovered yet and we're heading home on Sunday so maybe we'll get away with it.

"Karls, please? I'd rather face the disappointment now than drag it out another few days and get my hopes up." We're pretty sure that she's not pregnant because she's been getting cramps since yesterday and her period is due any day so this is typically how it goes. "Okay, but send someone else for one because we promised our daughter a picnic on the beach for lunch today - plus, if you're spotted buying a pregnancy test then rumours are going to start in minutes."

I nod as I get up, kissing her quickly as she holds Auggie on her hip. "Do you think mama has a baby in her tummy, Augs?" I coo as I stroke his little cheek with my finger and he smiles, "baba!" He's got a good few words now and it always makes me smile when he tries to talk back, plus he's pretty much walking now - we're just waiting for him to take those first few unaided steps and then he's gonna be running rings around us.

"Alright, come on, before Ro gets impatient and runs off to the beach without us," Karlie laughs at the comment but we both know fine well that our kid would be out there from the second she wakes up if we'd let her.

When we get back downstairs, Lilah has been distracting Rosie with cartoons so we could get dressed and get Auggie dressed, so the six year old jumps up and is immediately on our tail when she hears us coming back down.

"Mommy's grabbing the picnic basket, Roo, go and grab your shoes," Karlie laughs as she sits by Lilah with Auggie's shoes to get them on his little feet and the little girl quickly runs to the mud room to grab her shoes. I do as Karlie said and I go and grab the picnic lunch we made this morning after sending a quick text to our head of security, asking him to send one of the guys for a pregnancy test.

Karlie is more apprehensive to know than she expected so she's been trying to act like it's not bothering her at all. However, I know it'll make us both feel better to know where we're at and be able to prepare mentally if Karlie has to go through the process again.

"Mommy, come on!" Rosie runs into the kitchen giggling, not impressed when she finds me on my phone dawdling. "I'm coming, sweetheart," I laugh, putting my phone in the pocket of my shorts and then grabbing the picnic basket from the counter as I follow her back towards Karlie and her siblings.

I love this life. There's no controversies, no worrying what people are going to think - all that matters is my babies and all that matters to them is that their moms promised them a picnic. If it was a choice between this and my job, I'd choose this every single time.

"Hey, careful," I laugh as Rosie helps me walk Auggie over the rocks, the little guy is just as in love with the beach as his big sister - so I think we're going to be spending much more time here in the future. "One, two, three... jump!" Auggie giggles as Rosie and I jump back down onto the sand, the little guy landing on his feet too.
