"I see you, buddy, I see you," Auggie is screaming in his crib and I yawn as I walk into the room, "I'm right here, little man, mommy's got you," I pick him up and hold him close, kissing his sweet face as his crying stops. "I know, you never settle in a new place, huh?" I coo as I sit down in the rocking chair, the toddler cuddling up to me as I rock us both.

My re-recorded album comes out in two days and I flew into L.A. yesterday evening to tape a couple of TV appearances to promote it. August was supposed to stay in Nashville with Karlie, but he's been overly clingy and Karlie has been struggling with him as her pregnancy progresses, so we decided that he would come with me.

"Do you wanna come and cuddle in mommy's bed? I don't settle well either these days," I sigh as I rub his back, "let's go." I don't like sleeping without Karlie, and I really hate being away from my loves, but it's a small comfort having my boy here with me this time.

I go back into my room and crawl into bed, moving the pillows to create a barrier to stop Auggie rolling out, and then I lay the toddler down in Karlie's usual spot. He has his lion and his blanket tucked up beside him, and he quickly sprawls out in the big bed and makes the most of the space. I just watch him with a soft smile, holding his little hand as I think back to the first couple of weeks after he was born and how much he's grown and changed. He's my perfect little boy and I love him more than anything.

I guess I fell asleep again shortly after bringing Auggie into my bed, because the next thing that I'm aware of is little hands on my face. My eyes flicker open and it takes me a second to adjust to the light spilling into the room, and then I spot the grinning toddler staring down at me as he apparently seems to have found a very entertaining game in playing with my nose.

"Good morning, monkey," I laugh as I pull him down into my arms and he giggles like a little maniac as I cover him in kisses. "Should we go and change your stinky butt and then mommy can make breakfast?" I glance over to the time and it's just after six, so we have a little bit of time before we have to leave for the first studio. "Does that sounds good?" He isn't listening, he's just sitting on my stomach playing with his lion.

I get up and take him into his room to change him, August protesting like always so I have to try and distract him which is a lot easier when his big sisters are here. He's obsessed with Lilah and Rosie, so it's as simple as getting one of them to sit beside him and he's entertained for hours.

"Do you want eggs for breakfast, little man?" I open my arms to him and he nods as he lets me lift him up once I'm back on my feet, "jelly?" I frown as I carry him downstairs, "you want eggs and jelly?" He nods and I just laugh, "you're silly."

He sits in his highchair while I make him some eggs, the radio playing through the kitchen as I gently sing along and August watches me, giggling every now and then when I make a face at him. He's always been my little sidekick and he's definitely a mommy's boy, so he's always so sweet when he's with me. However, that means Karlie usually gets a hard time when I'm busy.

My phone buzzes on the counter and it's security letting me know that Tree is here, so I tell them to let her in. I run and unlock the door so I'm not leaving Auggie for too long, and as I put some scrambled egg and a half slice of toast with jelly on his little plate, I hear the publicist's voice.

"Taylor?" She's walking through the house and I call out telling her we're in the kitchen as I sit beside August and eat the other half of his slice of toast. He doesn't typically eat much in the morning, but we always make him what he asks for, so he'll probably take one bite out of that piece of toast and then get bored of it. "This is unexpected?" She looks between me and Auggie and it's only now that I realise I completely forgot to tell her that I was bringing him.
