"Lilah, it's time for school," I knock on the teenager's door and hear a groan from the other side. It's the first day of school once again and Lilah has been dreading it for weeks, she's trying to bulk out her college applications now that she's in junior year, but that means she's about to be really busy.

She still has time and I don't wanna annoy her too much first thing so I go back to check on Rosie who is evidently more excited than her sister.

"Do you want braids, bug?" Taylor is standing in the little ones' bathroom with Rosie on her little step stool in front of the mirror. "Yes please, mommy," she grins up at the blonde who smiles and kisses our girl on the tip of her nose.

Taylor spots me after a second and gives me a gentle smile, "is Lilah up?" I nod as I laugh, "I heard a very unhappy groan through the door, but I'll go and make sure she moved in a second." Taylor just shakes her head as she smiles, focusing on French braiding Rosie's hair. "Auggie is still sleeping, it seems our little man isn't quite ready for summer to be over either."

I don't think any of us are quite ready to go back to normal yet, it's been a crazy couple of months and it feels strange just going back to school runs and days at the office.

"All done," Taylor ties off Ro's braid and then kisses the little blonde on the forehead, "why don't you go and wait at the breakfast table and I'll come and make you whatever you like, okay?" She nods at me and so I step out of the way and let her run downstairs. "How are you feeling?" Taylor quickly clears the counter and I give her a soft smile, "nervous, you?" She nods in agreement, "as long as she can tell us that everything is going as it should be then I'll be happy."

I'm almost six weeks and we see Dr King every couple of weeks until I'm out of the first trimester, then I graduate to the OB because from then the chances are high that I'll have a healthy pregnancy. We get nervous every time and that's probably not going to change until the day we hold our little one in our arms.

"I'm gonna check on Lil and make breakfast," I pull her into a quick kiss and Taylor nods, "I'm gonna wake Auggie, but he's gonna be so grouchy." She sighs as she lets me go and I laugh, "just give him his lion and some mommy cuddles and he'll be fine soon enough." The singer hums as she turns and goes into Auggie's room, she knows our boy will always be smiling after he gets his mommy.

I hear Rosie put music on down in the kitchen as I knock on Lilah's door again, "Jesus, mom, I'm up!" I smirk, grumpy Lilah making an appearance before we even get to breakfast. "I'll have a waffle waiting for you in the kitchen," there's a few grumbled complaints from inside her room as I shake my head and go to find Rosie.

"Mama, can Dixie come over after school today?" The little blonde is sitting at the breakfast table with her iPad and looks up to me when I walk in, "urm not today, bug, but we can talk to Auntie Lily later and arrange something for another day, yeah?" Dixie is a couple years ahead of Ro in school but the two are super close, it's really sweet.

I kiss her head as I walk past, "what would you like for breakfast, princess?" I look over to her with a raised eyebrow and Rosie grins, "waffles, please!" I laugh as I nod, I knew that before I even asked her.

I start making breakfast and just as I put Ro's plate in front of her, Taylor walks in with Auggie on her hip. "Good morning, mr grumpy," I kiss his little face  before Taylor puts him in his highchair, handing him his lion then grabbing his sippy cup and giving him some milk.

"Did you remember to put Avie in your backpack this morning, Roo?" Rosie took her giraffe to school with her every day last year but she also likes to sleep with her at night so we're constantly making sure she hasn't been left behind. "I'm not taking Avie to school today," Taylor and I frown at each other, the singer grabbing her cup of coffee before going to sit with the little ones, "why not, bug? You take her everywhere."
