"I'll go check on Elsa." I heard Clarke say out loud to no one in particular.
"You want me to come with you?" Charles asked her instantly. My fingers curled as I clenched my fist tightly at the sharp anger that jolted against my skin.
"Uh, if you want to." Clarke replied unsure. She couldn't really say no because Charles and Elsa were really close too. I quickly looked away before someone figured out I was glaring at Charles. I waited until Clarke planted a soft kiss on Dan's cheek before leaving with Charles.
What was this girl doing to me.
I turned back to Harry and Dan, where Harry stood looking at me with peculiarity in his eyes and Dan just stared at Clarke walk away in a daze.
"Lunch?" I asked them, breaking them apart from their thoughts.
"Uh- yeah. Let's go." Dan replied and started leading the way.
"Were you bunking with Clarke?" Harry asked me as we were on our way to the cafeteria. Dan slowed his pace as his attention caught up on our conversation.
"Yeah. We were just chilling."
"Where?"
"Oak Tree."
"Rani?" I hummed a yes in response while I stared ahead ignoring Dan's curious gaze.
"Oh shit. That's bad. You took her there?" Harry's outburst stopped both Dan and me to give him a look.
"What do you mean?" Dan came to my defence. "It's normal, they're just friends. I would have taken her there myself if it wasn't for him."
What the fuck does he mean by he would've taken her there.
Dan wasn't coming in for my defence. He just couldn't seem to accept the idea of me and her, and I wanted to know why. But I stopped myself from questioning Dan, that would make me seem like I was actually interested in Clarke.
"What about Kim?" Harry completely ignored Dan and looked straight at me, like he could read all my thoughts. I diverted my gaze to his brown curls in hopes he wouldn't see right through me.
"What about her? Clarke and I are just friends." Harry shook his head in disappointment at my answer.
"If you are going to deny it, then stop whatever you're doing before you hurt yourself or her."
"I'd never hurt Clarke." was my instant reply.
"I was talking about Kim." Harry countered making Dan laugh from the side. I could feel the warmth spread from my neck upwards as I realised I jumped straight into the gutter. I continued walking leaving them behind.
"It's not wrong, mate, but it'll be if you don't do it right." His last words left my mind busy until George sat in front of me during lunch and demanded for an arm wrestling match. We do this pretty often and no one has ever beat me in arm wrestling before. And George was the only one who seemed to last for a long time against me. In desperate need of distraction, I agreed immediately. Time seemed to pass as many boys joined in too. It served its job successfully.
Well, until Clarke decided to walk in with Elsa, Jesse and Charles. She seemed excited as her eyes landed on the boys arm wrestling each other. She quickly occupied the seat in front of me and put her hand out as a challenge surprising the whole cafeteria. Surprising me too. Her eyes sparkled as they held my stare. She challenged me by slowing raising her eyebrow. The way she looked at me, excited me.
