Clarke Augustan

I looked back at the private jet ready to take off and turned my head towards the small petite lady in front of me. I held her hand and squeezed it reassuringly but nothing seemed to stop her tears.

"Please... End this." Lucy cried against my hands. I pulled her into a tight hug and rubbed her back comfortingly.

"Thank you for helping me. And I promise I'll end this for once and all." I promised her and wiped her tears. "I'm also sorry for what happened to Aaron. I didn't get the chance earl-"

"I know it wasn't your fault, but you do have to understand that both of you lead two different lifestyles that constantly puts each other in danger. And I can't afford losing him."

"Neither can I. I completely understand you." I whispered as a set of tears welled up in my eyes. She kissed my cheek lovingly and wiped the tears which had fallen down my cheek.

"He'll never forgive me if something happened to you on this mission. I've given Hedge a number which belongs to Hailey Francis, she'll help you with whatever you want in Paris. Come back safe with happy news. Good luck." She wished me luck and placed some cold object in my hand. I looked at her with confusion before speculating the item. It was a gold chain with a clock as its pendant." You know what to do." I nodded in reply and turned around to walk towards the jet.

"Clarke," She called out once more and I turned back with a questioning look, "For what it counts, I really did wish you ended up with Aaron. I'd be blessed to have you in the family." I nodded with a smile at her warm words and continued walking towards my mission. This was for my mother, my father, Drew, Aaron, Lucy, and Xavier. This was the god damn Universe's revenge.

LE CIEL, the sky, is going to fall tonight.

Hedge activated the jammer the second the jet took off to Paris and asked me to keep it with me the entire time until Ethan took his last breath. It was surprising how Hedge agreed to do this with me without suggesting we get permission from the Chief before anything and all of this only reminded me how much this means to everyone. We captured the girl and took her into the minivan parked few away from the hotel and asked her for the code which she initially refused to give.

"She's really pretty..." Hedge commented looking at her in a daze. I rolled my eyes at him while the girl, Layla, kept her glare on the two of us.

"I hate the flics! Casse-toi!"

"What did she say?" Hedge asked me confused.

"She asked us to piss off." I replied with a shrug and turned back to her, "Layla-wait, what's your real name?"

"Who's asking?"

"We're not cops, okay? We're just two people trying to save our friends. Now, what is your name?"

"Natalia." She whispered with anger still present in her.

"Natalia-"

"Wow. That's a pretty name for a pretty face."

"Oh for heaven's sake, Hedge! Do this once I'm gone, okay?" I exasperated as I turned to look at Hedge who had guilt in his eyes and sheepish smile on his face which said he couldn't help himself. A soft giggle broke our stare as both of us turned to Natalia with a surprised look.
