"You are kidding, right?" That was my first reaction to Aaron's answer. Actually speaking, it was both Aaron's father and my reaction. I was expecting Aaron to burst out laughing any moment and shout, 'just kidding!'
"I'm not kidding." He replied like as if he could hear my thoughts. He let out a frustrated sigh at both his father and my reluctance in accepting his answer. "I thought a lot about it and I feel my decision is completely reasonable and valid."
"Of course it's not!" Mr. Williams exclaimed outraged not really surprising me with his reply. Aaron gave his father a look,
"Father, I'm aware of what I'm doing. You promised me that you would respect my decision no matter what it'd be, and I hope you keep your word." He replied sternly. In that second, Aaron seemed like the adult and Mr.Williams acted like a kid, despite his bald head. My eyes never strayed away from Aaron. He looked so attractive and hot with all that anger and bossy aura surrounding him. I had to remind myself to look away before he realised I was drooling over him shamelessly. When his words finally sunk into my thick brain, a smug smile was dying to escape on to my face. The excitement, which was dead previously, was now back with double power, bubbling with happiness.
He just back answered his dad!
YES!
God, I hated Mr. Bald head.
"I guess I should justify my answer first. One, Clarke is already halfway into the case and taking her out now will be completely pointless. Two, She is the best at camp now and losing her for over something stupid is even more stupid."
So he considered what happened between us stupid. Okay.
"And there are some ground rules too. This whole thing has to remain professional. Once this whole mission gets over, you have to leave my life, Clarke." His words somehow did hurt me all over again even though I saw it coming. "No action shall be taken without my knowledge or my permission. Somebody is being tracked or hacked, I need to know. If somebody is kidnapped, I need to know. If someone is hurt, I need to know. You need to chase somebody, I need to know. I need to be informed about everything that is happening in the case and involving me, alright?" His voice was filled authority, demanding respect and obedience with every word he uttered. I nodded a little to late, I was too busy thinking how hot and scary he looked at the same time.
"Once I get to know I'm left out of something, even if it's trivial, the whole mission will end that bloody second. I need to be a part of everything and because of that, I want everything you use or whoever you work with, to shift in the attic above." He demanded.
"As in work here?" I asked him.
"Yeah, my dad's place is closer than the camp anyway." I nodded knowing that could be done, bexause I don't work with anybody neither do I use gadgets. There is only one thing I need,
Hedge.
"Everything will go back to being normal. At least, pretending like its normal. And last rule, No mixing business with pleasure." He added sternly making me roll my eyes before I could stop myself. It wasn't like I was going to seduce him. "Everything clear?" He asked me one last time before passing me the new contract.
