When people ask what I see in you, I just smile and look away because I'm afraid if they knew, they'd fall in love with you too. -Anonymous

I should have walked straight back to class but the slight drizzle outside tempted me to take a short stroll in the open corridor near the football ground. There was something about rain that always attracted me, but it always brought me trouble. For instance, right now. I missed my previous period and now I was fifteen minutes late for my next class.
"Do you know how late you are?" The angry physics teacher yelled at me. First of all, I hate physics. Second of all, I couldn't stand it when someone yelled at me, irrespective of whoever the fuck it is. Third of all, I really didn't like her.
"15 minutes?" I replied bored.
"It's not just fifteen minutes! It's twenty long minutes! Half of my class!" She replied, maybe she had a point, but still. Whatever.
"I was at the-" She cut me off before I could hand her the pass, that the coach handed me.
"I'm not accepting your apology! Just because you are the new girl doesn't mean I'll let you go without a punishment! Kids these days have absolutely no sense of time-"
"I was at Coach's-" I tried explaining but she cut me off again leaving me with warm cheeks because of embarrassment.
"How dare you interrupt me while I'm speaking? This kind of attitude is not tolerable. And you were going to use the coach's name! You'll get into serious trouble for lying, young lady-" I interrupted her by putting the pass that the coach handed me right in front of her eyes.
"I'm not lying." I snapped and glared at her as I saw her scrutinising my pass. "And wow, you are a ticking bomb, aren't you. You alright, babe? Is it the weather?" I asked feigning concern and immediately heard giggles around the room. She humiliated me in front of everybody and it was my turn now. And honestly; she's not even my teacher. I'm just here to do my job. She looked dumbfounded at my response as I walked past her.
I walked to the only empty seat, which was right behind Aaron and Dan, and right between two other jocks. Dan even motioned me to sit next to him, mouthing the words,
'Saved you a spot, baby.' With a wink.
"Detention for being late." She said through her gritted teeth.
"Yay. Fun!" I replied with a bright smile making her even more furious. Aaron and Dan both turned back at the same time.
"Nice one, Clarke." Dan complimented. "No one has ever had the guts to stand up for themselves in front of her." He added making Aaron nod his head in agreement.
"Just stay out of trouble though-" Aaron's cute little concerned voice was cut off by the obnoxiously loud guy on my right.
"New Girl has some balls."
"And you won't have yours if you don't shut up," I replied with an innocent smile making the people around me laugh silently.
"She got you, Smelly Nelly!" The one on my left exclaimed laughing.
"Shut it, Big Foot!" Smelly Nelly retorted. I rolled my eyes at their childish attitude and looked back to Aaron.
"Am I stuck between them?" I asked Aaron in a scared whisper. He laughed and nodded.
"Fantastic Class," I muttered after Aaron and Dan both turned front to face the board, and could only see their shoulders shake in laughter. Before he could say anything, a loud angry voice interrupted all of us.
