Entry 43 Continue-
Clarke AugustanI quickly pushed Aaron away from being the target and in the next second a bullet passed the window, breaking it in the process, and followed through the little gap that I had managed to make between Aaron and me, and finally hit the bloody wall. Everything was silent except for the ragged breathing of Aaron and mine. I tried catching my breath and quickly looked at Aaron to check if he was fine.
He was fine but looked bloody worried.
I quickly grabbed his hand and rushed out of the doors of the nurse room towards the parking lot. Aaron had to go back home right now. It was the safest place for him. Just like Aaron had mentioned, his car had arrived with three bodyguards in it.
I quickly opened my car's trunk and pulled out the hidden black briefcase from underneath a black camouflaging mat. I grabbed two guns and hooked it to my skirt's belt and held the strongest gun in my hand. I ignored the burning sensation in my left arm and continued doing my work. I turned back to Aaron who looked like he was in a fierce conversation with the bodyguards.
I'll never understand his hatred towards bodyguards.
"Aaron, I need to-"
"Clarke!" He looked at me with relief, "Great, you are here! Now please tell them we don't need them. Tell them that you are here and you are more than enough-"
"Aaron, you need to get back home." I replied with a stern voice cutting him off.
"I don't want them breathing down my neck. I don't mind you breathing down my neck though-"
"Aaron! I have to chase that guy and you have to go back home with them."
"I'm not going anywhere without you!"
"That's sweet but I have to go." I snapped and rushed into my car to start the engine. Aaron soon appeared outside my car window.
"Listen, I don't want anything happening to you. Your job is to protect me- Voila! You did your job- Now, come on, please let's go back home!" He tried his best to change my mind but I knew what I had to do.
"This is my job, Aaron." I insisted but he shook his head not agreeing with me.
"I'm your boss and your job is to listen to me. You are not chasing him, Clarke." He ordered me. For a second there I actually wanted to obey him.
"It's a good thing I never obey orders, right?" I retorted with a small smile making him glare at me. He shook his head softly as he started to understand that I wasn't going to listen to him. We kept a staring contest for five seconds before he finally gave up and looked away with a dejected sigh.
"You won't listen to me, right?" He asked me softly this time moving closer to my face. I mirrored his actions.
"I have to go, Aaron." I whispered softly as his face was just an inch away from mine. "Please stay safe." His tempting full lips were just there, taunting me to just grab his face and kiss him, but I was supposed to keep it only business, right? No mixing pleasure with business.
"Please stay alive." He whispered back and moved closer to me making my heart go frenzy. His intense gaze on my lips made my stomach do summersaults. He placed his lips on mine all of a sudden, taking me by complete surprise. My eyes were wide in shock before I finally succumbed to his kiss. I mustered a shy smile when he stepped back and waved me goodbye. I watched Aaron's car vanish in diminishing size through my car's wing mirror.
"Yo, Clarke, target arriving in five, four, three, two, and one." In an instant another car sped past me with illegal speed.
"Thanks, Hedge."
