Aaron
I read the message over and over again in regret of not reading it earlier. It was already tomorrow and I was entering my practice room in a minute. I couldn't blame myself completely for forgetting to check his message last night because I was out for dinner with Zeke and I didn't really bother to check my phone. Plus, I could hardly do anything about it right now, I'll just go meet him after lunch or school. I entered the room and was pleasantly surprised to see Zeke's face but still greeted him with the usual bants.
"What the fuck are you doing here? I've had enough of your shit last night."
"Drew called me, Hässliche Schlampe."
"Is that what Kristen calls you?"
"Nien, that's what I call the both of you." Drew's voice immediately ended our conversation.
"Why am I here?"
"Yeah, why is he here?" Zeke shot a sharp glare towards my insincere tone.
"Both of you have to spar in a duel."
"Who are we fighting?"
"Each other." Drew answered calmly.
"What?!" I looked at him incredulously. "We've never- what, no- I can't beat The Black-"
"And I can't beat an Augustan! Drew, what were you thinking? Penny for your thoughts?"
"Penny in his thoughts, that's why he's lost it." I added knowing exactly who had fucked his mind.
"Oh, pish posh. First one to give up, loses. No rules. Your time begins now."
"We are not doing this." I slouched my shoulders and rolled my eyes.
"Whats rule number one, Clarke?" His voice held so much authority, I instantly straightened my back.
"Sir. Rule number one, Never defy a superior's order, Sir."
"Now show me what you'll do to survive."
I turned around to face Zeke while he did the same. Both of us were unimpressed with Drew's antics but he didn't seem to care one bit.
"I'm apologising right now for my future actions. Tell me if-"
"Your concern is cute, Zeke. Worry about yourself though."
"Your still the same old egoistic bitch." As soon as these words left his mouth, I packed a hard punch aiming straight at his nose. He stumbled back at the harsh impact and looked at me with cold anger in his eyes.
"And I can still give you nosebleeds." I added with short playful laugh as I started moving around on my toes.
"Oh, it's on." We started our duel. Since, Zeke and I were both really competitive, the crowd really enjoyed our duel. Oh, what crowd? Drew invited people who were free to come watch us. Soon there was a crowd around us, cheering and betting between the both of us. Duels between agents were pretty normal as long as it stayed as a duel. It's like their weekly entertainment.
I heard the crowd go wild as I threw another punch which landed on his chest. I dodged another one of his punches, crawled under his arm and snuck up on him from behind to quickly put him in head lock. He, in one move, lifted me over his shoulder and threw me to the floor with all his strength. I groaned at the harsh impact and waited for his next move while I stayed on the ground motionless, but he didn't do anything. He waited for me to compose myself. I smiled at him with respect. He wanted a fair fight.
