I was silently and dreadfully waiting for this day, to see if Clarke would actually go out with Xavier. No one really knows what her answer was, we just assumed she said yes, and now I really wanted her to prove us wrong.
I hope she hasn't decided to move on already. Not when the sky has finally decided to clear up.
I know I hurt her but I had to do it to save her. To save us. She doesn't even acknowledge my presence anymore and it only worries me further,
What if she is actually moving on?
I waited patiently five minutes into our first period, but Clarke was yet to bless us with her presence. And as the period got over, I realised it was no point of waiting, she wasn't coming. I really wanted to see her, especially with how things ended yesterday. Guilt washed over me like a harsh wave and I couldn't stand. She had a look on her face when she was leaving, it didn't say much but said everything it had to say.
And it pained me to know that I hurt her, and that I stole away that one smile I wanted to always see her with. My eyes met Kim's pair of blue eyes, and an immediate surge of anger rushed in.
Get rid of the obstacles.
I promised myself I would as I wistfully glanced at Clarke's empty chair, it was the first time she was absent and I never realised before how much I'd actually miss her. Immensely.
My phone buzzed waking me up from my thoughts, reminding me I still had to go for lunch.
Come to Sports Wing, E block, immediately. Be silent tho! - Charles.
I quickly manoeuvred towards the sports wing hoping Charles didn't disappoint me. The Sports wings was silent as usual, students in their right mind wouldn't be here if they didn't have a legitimate reason. I found Charles leaning against the wall onto my right in E block tapping his foot continuously while he was on his phone.
"Great, you're here. We need to hurry." He let out a breath of relief and grabbed my shoulders as soon as he saw me. Before I could question him to cure my confusion, he dragged me towards the D block's hallway. We quickly hid behind a wall as Charles silently pointed at the discharging pair, who were both too caught up in their act to notice anyone else. They were the only two people in the hallway, who should be so thankful that they were no cameras installed in the hallway. The lanky guy whose presence boiled my blood, left the hallway from the other side, leaving back the girl who was adjusting her bag.
"I'll take it from here, thanks, man." I patted Charles' shoulders.
"Anytime."
As she straightened up to leave, still unaware of my presence behind her, I couldn't help but satisfy my evil urges to startle her. And probably ruin her.
"Rushing somewhere?" My voice scarily calm as I casually leaned against the wall. She spun around to face me so fast, I thought she'd break her neck. I mean, I wished she'd break her neck. Her bright blue eyes normally filled with smug and shrewdness, now held shock and fear instead. She quickly masked it with confidence, surprising me once more at how good she was at faking.
"Don't worry, lunch goes on for another ten minutes. We have time." My words seemed to only harden her glare towards me.
"I'm just surprised seeing you here, Aaron. Didn't expect to catch you here."
