how I imagine the grown-up version of Zeke

The fourth period had just gotten over and unfortunately for the rest of the students, we had a surprise test.
"Dude I aced the test, man. I got 21 out of 25, Bitch!" I heard Dan telling Jaiden out of excitement to which Jade just snorted arrogantly and replied back,
"23."
"24 and cheers!" Aaron added with a smirk silencing both their brags and excitement.
"What about you, Clarke? How much did you get?" Dan asked me making all three of them turn to me with curious looks. I realised they were expecting an answer after staring at their faces for few seconds hoping they'd let it slide. I then sighed irritably knowing they wouldn't let it go until I answer them.
"25." I ended their conversation altogether. We made our way towards the cafeteria for lunch and for once, everything felt like it was back in place. Dan and Jaiden eventually warmed up to me again. Aaron was back to being really sweet, which was surprising but I had a huge feeling it had to do something with his conversation with Kristen. For once we had a lead with our mission and
everything was quite back to normal, and all of that made me really happy. The only thing left to do was figure out exactly why Aaron is Ethan's target. I still distinctly remember my conversation with Philip yesterday.
"Apparently, Bradd Anees helped his wife Beth find the agency, F.O.R.C.E and guess what? The victim wasn't revealed but it isn't Beth for sure. It has to be someone she was close to. The culprit ran away before they could find details, but his name is filed as Ethan Mark Stone, Xavier's older brother. I don't know how this is going to help you but I hope it did."
"Did my mother know all of this?"
"Uh, this case was never removed again from our department after it was filed. No one really bothered with this case cause it was such a mess."
"Mess?"
"Yeah, I don't know the details or the story. No one talks about it. Neither is it mentioned in the file, but apparently, it was really messy. It stopped your mom from ever accepting another mission but before she knew it, she was assassinated. It all happened way too suddenly. "
"You don't think those two cases are the same?"
"Now that you've brought it towards the light, it seems possible. When X entered the scene as an anonymous Don, we just tagged him as X, and searched for him-"
"Even though he was right beneath our noses the entire time."
"Yeah. It does sound easy and stupid that we took so much time."
"Indeed. I would have had a chance at childhood with my father if we had figured this out sooner..." The line was silent because of the heaviness in my voice didn't let me speak further. I heard Philip sigh sadly.
"I'm really sorry, Clarke. I hope everything turns out fine. If anybody, it's you and Mike who deserves peace after all of this."
"I appreciate it, mate."
It all piled up on one person at the end; Lucy Cortez. The dear sister of Beth Anees and mother of Aaron Cortez.
How does it pile upon her you may ask?
