Clarke Augustan

"Hedge, I need you to do something for me."

"Anything."

"I want you to hack in to our camp system and retrieve all the forsenic evidence you can find related to X. We are mainly searching for Ethan's fingerprints."

"Okay. Anything but that." He replied with an unsure nervous laugh. I needed Hedge to do this so I can narrow down which one is the actual Ethan from the imposters. We were denied access to this particular information under the order of Dr. Parker because 'Confidentiality.'

Confidentiality my arse.

"It won't make a difference, Hedge. The teams are assigned anyway." I tried convincing Hedge to start thinking like me. Dr. Parker didn't want anyone to know the real Ethan until all the five culprits were brought and put together in the same room. This is also helped agents not to be biased with their target. I didn't care though, I thought it was stupid. I wanted to know who the real Ethan was and I wanted him.

"Yeah, if it won't make a difference why do you want to know?"

"Curiosity."

"Sad."

"Hedge, please."

"Why are we doing this Clarke? It won't make a difference, right?"

"See, all we have to know who the real Ethan is, okay? I promise you I won't do anything reckless. I just want to know if I'm chasing him down or not. If not, I want to know who is. Please Hedge."

"F.O.R.C.E is the biggest private agency out there in this world. What makes you think their security won't keep up to their name?"

"Because you built it?"

"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?" By his offended look I understood he took it the wrong way. I laughed internally but tried covering it up verbally.

"That's not what I meant! I meant you built it so you're all also the best candidate to crack it too."

"Quit flattering me now." He mumbled trying to ignore me.

"I speak the truth. You're the safest option. We're only looking at if I'm chasing him down or no. If not you, then I'll go approach someone else." I shrugged casually hoping he'd buy my act. In truth, I had no one else to go to. Hedge was my only option. He didn't need to know that.

"You'll get caught into trouble."

"Yeah, and I'll drag you in with me." I replied trying real hard to not smile.

"But I wasn't involved!" He cried.

"You knew it and let it happen."

"Who said?"

"So, you'll go snitch on me now?" I questioned him, already knowing the answer. He didn't utter a word, but with that he said a lot of things. He just silently agreed to do my work. I laughed gleefully and kissed his cheek despite his glare trained on me.

"Thank you, darling. You're a great guy!"

"And you're an evil bitch."

"Witch." I corrected him, not liking anyone calling me a bitch, even if it's just for the sake of humour. I just didn't like it.

"Same thing." Before he could say anything, Drew entered the tech room and called us to the Chief's office.

"Why?" Hedge enquired.
