We all panicked and ran over to the window. A group of the tracksuit mafia standing outside Kate's apartment building each of the men holding a different weapon in their hand.
"How do they know who you are?" Clint asked panicked.
"My names on the buzzer" She shouted her brown eyes widened in fear.
One of the men grabbed a molotov cocktail lighting it and throwing it towards the window. On instinct I grabbed Kate tackling her towards the floor just in time for the molotov cocktail to fly over her head.
We hit the floor and I hovered over top of Kate, both of us panting.
"Thanks" She managed to say, her eyes scanning my face.
"Don't mention it" I replied.
I scrambled off of her and my dad was trying to fight off the mafia with his bow.
"Go you two get out of here!" He shouted.
I nodded grabbing Lucky the pizza dog's lead. Kate acted quickly grabbing a bow which was leant up against the wall and fired it down at the Tracksuit mafia, it managing to explode a molotov cocktail one of the men were holding.
Ok that was kinda hot.
"Nice aim" I chuckled.
She laughed and we managed to escape the building just as the firefighters and police arrived. That managed to get the mafia to scramble taking off in their creepy kidnapping white vans.
"Come on" I shouted at my dad.
He grabbed his bag and we all ran out of the building making it out a back exit. We stopped in the alleyway coughing out the smoke which had entered our lungs.
I glanced up at Kate whose wounds looked worse.
"Fuck those look sore" I said.
"Eh I've had worse" She panted out straightening her back.
"Let's go get you guys cleaned up" Clint said glancing at our wounds.
We headed out, sneaking past the police and down the street towards the nearest convenience store. As soon as we entered we went to go grab some first aid supplies my dad informing us on what to get.
"We'll need to find a safe house we're I can drop you off while I retrieve the suit" Clint spoke quietly.
"So you're just going to leave me behind" Kate scoffed.
"Yes that's exactly what I'm going to do Kate" my father retorted.
I grabbed some bandages off the shelf handing them to him.
"I actually know a safehouse" Kate said.
"Is it one which doesn't have your name plastered on the front of it" I teased.
Kate rolled her eyes playfully.
"No it's my aunt's house and she's away, and I just so happen to be house keeping" She smirked.
"Ah not bad Bishop" I chuckled.
"I'm full of great ideas Barton" Kate retorted with a smirk placing the items on the counter.
"Great I can stash you there" Clint said sarcastically.
"She isn't a bag of money dad" I scoffed.
"Exactly because a bag of money would actually be useful" He replied.
I looked over at Kate and gave her a small apologetic smile.
Clint kept quite and paid for the items before hastily stuffing them into his bag, clearly wanting to get this over and done with. Where as I was somewhat hoping this mission would last longer than intended. Kate intrigued me.
"Wait but why can't we go to the Avengers tower?" Kate asked.
"Tony sold that a few years ago" Clint replied with a sigh.
I want to get to know her.
"So, Lead the way to this so called safehouse then" my dad said gesturing for us to exit the store.
"Follow me" She said tugging Lucky the pizza dog's lead.
We walked down the busy streets of Manhattan. The wind was strong and blew snow in all directions covering all three well four including the dog with snow.
"Fuck it's freezing" I complained a shiver running down my spine.
"Don't worry we're almost there" Kate replied.
I glanced down at my watch seeing that it was almost 3am. We arrived outside of an apartment building all of us ducking into the doorway away from the window.
Kate stood against the wall next to the buzzer. She looked around the corner checking for anyone following us before running her hand down the buzzer pressing every single button.
"Seriously" I chuckled.
"The doorman who knows me is away" Kate shrugged continuing to press buttons.
Finally someone answered.
"Um hello?" The person asked obviously confused.
"Um hi we ah found your dog" Kate lied.
The person hung up, Kate let out a huff but continued to spam people's buzzers, finally the door clicked.
A smile erupted on Kate's face and she opened up the door.
"Ta da" Kate said doing jazz hands.
I laughed as my dad rolled his eyes at Kate all of us heading inside. We headed up the flights of stairs, Lucky panting. The stray dog tired and most likely in need of more pizza.
We reached the top floor and Kate pulled out a set of keys rummaging through them all to find the right one.
"Can you hurry up it's cold" Clint complained rubbing his hands together.
"Jeez Hawkeye calm down" Kate chuckled sticking the key into the hole.
The door swung open and Clint nudged his way through dumping the first aid supplies on the table.
"You guys get cleaned up, I'm going to get the suit" Clint said glancing down at his watch.
"Don't be too long" I called out at my dad as he left the room.
The door slammed shut and Lucky let out a small whimper before curling up into a ball on the carpet.
Kate grabbed a frozen pizza out of the fridge and used it as a make shift ice pack before collapsing onto the couch.
"You'll need to clean those wounds first" I said grabbing the supplies.
Kate sighed and walked over to me taking a seat at the kitchen table. She began to clean her wounds.
I turned around heading over to the freezer to find my own source of ice, hopefully something a little better than a pizza.
This trip has took a turn.
