I headed downstairs my hair still damp from our shower, Clint walking in.

"Hey where are the others?" I asked.

"Laura needed to stop by at the bakery and the kids are helping her" He said.

"Oh ok" I replied.

"Hey why's your hair wet?" Clint asked.

I could feel my cheeks burn knowing the answer but my dad definitely didn't need to know about Kate fucking me in the shower.

"Oh I just had a shower" I shrugged telling him the partial truth.

"Didn't you have one this morning?" He asked.

"I- well I did a workout and got sweaty again" I lied.

"Oh ok" Clint shrugged thankfully not asking anymore questions.

I smiled awkwardly walking past to grab some food out of the cupboards. I grabbed some food carrying it upstairs.

I closed the door to my room Kate smiling as I lifted up the bags of chips and tossed them onto the bed. She laughed as I collapsed down next to her. She curled into my side wrapping her arms around my waist kissing my cheek.

"Do you wanna watch a movie?" I asked.

Kate nodded and I reached forward grabbing my laptop and placing it on my lap. I could hear scratching at the door. I sighed handing the laptop to Kate walking over to the door to let Lucky in. I opened the door and the golden Labrador jumped up on me trying to lick my face.

I laughed attempting to shove Lucky off.

"Aww he just wants kisses" Kate laughed.

I sputtered and Lucky finally gave up jumping down and hopping onto the bed onto Kate's lap. I closed the door behind me returning to my place next to Kate on the bed. She rested her head on my shoulder a smile on her face.

Everything seemed to feel right, how it should be. I didn't doubt how I felt about Kate for a second to me she was utter perfection, a ray of sunshine.

"What are you thinking about?" Kate asked looking up at me.

I gave her a smile and shook my head.

"Nothing" I replied placing a small kiss on her head.

I couldn't help but think how proud Natasha would be of me finding someone. She always told me not to be like her and distance myself from love and after the snap I couldn't dare grow close to anyone.

Just the thought of caring about someone, loving someone and then one second later snap they're gone, dusted, dead. I never wanted to get close to people in fear of getting hurt or losing someone but now with Kate I realised that I can't go my whole life trying to avoid heartbreak otherwise I would miss out on all of this. I would miss out on her.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when Kate squeezed my hand. I cleared my throat looking down at her.

"What's up?" She asked.

"I'm just thinking" I said.

"About what?" Kate prodded.

"About how glad I am that I meet you" I said.

Kate smiled her cheeks burning red.

"God you're such a sap" Kate chuckled.

"Like you can talk" I scoffed.

Kate laughed nodding her head in agreement.

"You're right I can't" She sighed.

"Exactly" I smirked.

Kate rested her head onto my stomach and I reached down to play with her hair which was splayed across me and the mattress. Lucky moving to curl up on the floor looking up at us betrayed because Kate kicked him off the bed.

"I wish I could stay here forever" Kate sighed closing her eyes.

"Me too, the world is fucking crazy and the only thing that makes sense to me is you" I said.

Kate's lips upturned into a warm smile. A comfortable silence fell upon us as we lay there, my fingers playing with Kate's hair.

"I wonder if Kingpin will return" Kate said.

"I would like to hope he's dead but that man seems to be invincible" I sighed.

"What if he comes after me?" Kate said.

"He won't get you ok" I assured her.

Kate lifted her head up sitting up and crossing her legs. She fiddled with her hands in her lap, her eyes fixated on the ground.

"Hey look at me" I said softly.

She let out a sigh and lifted her head up, I sat up on the bed leaning back against the headboard.

"You'll be ok, he won't find you here and if he does Clint and I will be here. You won't be alone" I assured her.

Kate bit her lip and nodded.

"I won't let him get to you ok" I said.

I reached over picking up her hands and holding them in mine.

"Ok" Kate said.

I smiled slightly and Kate adjusted herself sitting onto my lap she rested her head on my shoulder.

"I'm kinda scared" Kate chuckled.

I sighed kissing her cheek soothing her worries.

"I'm strong I'll protect you" I teased.

A laughed escaped Kate's lips and she rolled her eyes at me.

"Sure thing babe" Kate said.
